Burial may take place in a local Council run or privately owned cemetery. Most rural churches will also have a churchyard which may still have space available for burials. Burials in churchyards are usually only permitted where the deceased was a resident in the Parish or an existing family grave exists which can be used for a further interment.
It will be necessary to establish the requirements for disposal of the ashes after the funeral. The Crematorium or your local cemetery may provide a garden of remembrance where the ashes can be scattered, or they can be returned to the Funeral Director for collection by the family to be scattered at a favourite location.
There are many types of coffin or casket available including, traditional solid Wood, various Wood veneers, Bamboo, Wicker and even bespoke coffins printed with a photographed design specific to the person. We would be happy to discuss your requirements and advise on the relevant costs. Below are a few examples of the types of coffins that can be provided.
The procedure following a death can vary depending on the circumstances. In many cases the Doctor of the Deceased will issue a Medical Cause of Death Certificate but if he or she is unsure of the actual cause of death, the Coroner may have to be informed before Registration can take place. If the Doctor is able to issue a Medical Certificate, the next two sections do not apply.

Our mother had pre-paid for her funeral, so we didn't know what to expect. However Grassby were absolutely wonderful. Everyone on their staff is professional, kind, courteous and solicitous. They were patient when we dithered over making decisions and calmly and efficiently dealt with unusual requests. Everything went seamlessly from the first contact to the delivery of the ashes. Thank you for helping to make our mother's funeral an occasion to be well remembered.
