Services
Dr Simon Manara provides a personal orthodontic service at his specialist orthodontic practice in London's West End. It is located towards the northern end of Harley Street. All the latest techniques that will benefit your treatment are used. Many of our new patients are referred to us following a recommendation from our existing or previous patients.
The practice is situated towards the southern end of Harley Street, near the corner of Queen Ann Street. Regents Park (Bakerloo), and Great Portland Street (Circle, Hammersmith & City, and Metropolitan) are also accessible, but a little further away. 10-15 minutes walk. An increasing number of the parking meters use mobile phones for payment; see the signs for how to do this.
A specialist orthodontist must first qualify as a dentist, and then undertakes a three year, full-time post-graduate study in orthodontics. All orthodontists are dentists but about 3% of dentists in the UK are qualified as specialist orthodontists. An orthodontist must first complete a 5 year dental undergraduate programme at a university dental school.
Straight teeth and a beautiful smile has been should to increase one's self confidence. This has been backed up by studies that show people with straighter, teeth have improved confidence, appear more attractive and have more successful at securing the jobs they desire. In some case, irregular teeth can cause problems with how you bite, effecting your ability to chew properly.
Orthodontics can be carried out using many different appliances. Newer technologies and materials have improved the systems and the appearance of the orthodontic appliances available today for children and adults. The choice offered often depends on whether you are seeing a specialist orthodontist or a general dentist.
