We are pleased to advise that our Cafe is now open again for outside dining only. While most tables are first come-first served, we do have one table that can be booked by calling 01207 592059 ext 1. Following the Prime Minister's recent announcement we wanted to reassure our customers that the SHOP (butchery, deli counter, bakery, green grocery etc) will remain fully open Tuesday to Saturday 9am - 4pm.
ALL customers are requested to use the hand washing facilities on site BEFORE entering the shop. We will then contact you to arrange payment at which point you can choose to collect in the shop or at our remote collection point at the back of the shop. This helps reduce your time in store to a minimum.

East Knitsley Grange Farm, is and has always been, a mixed farm with a strong emphasis on livestock production. Currently farmed by the sixth generation of the Jewson family, with the seventh generation learning the ropes of the diversified farm business. The farm is approximately 200 acres made up of predominantly grassland.
The farm butchery is the heart of our business, and the basis for many aspects of the shop and cafe. All the livestock that the farm produces is utilised by the butchery, however demand has now outstripped what our small family farm can provide, particularly in relation to the beef, so we now also support other local farmers to meet this demand.
Knitsley farm boasts an artisan bakery which was added in early 2012. The bakery is sited in the upstairs of the former 'old granary' which was built in the late 1700's for the purpose of storing grain for animal feed. Our bakery team produce all the breads for the farm shop and cafe/ restaurant from scratch, using very traditional techniques.
Over the years we have developed our products from the delicatessen counter to offer a wide range of home produced cooked meats, deli salads, terrines, quiches and a superb selection of pates from a reputable local company.
We boast an extensive selection of pies, ranging from our cold pork pie range including the award winning Sweet Apple Chutney & Stilton topped Pork Pie, through to our myriad of hot pies including the ever popular Knitsley Corned Beef Pasty or the ravishing Red Onion Marmalade Sausage Roll. All of which are hand stamped and filled in batches, before being baked-off fresh every day for service.

Simply stunning butchery. Our second visit to the north east in self catering accommodation in the last couple of months. Last time the lamb noisettes knocked our socks off (& the chicken thighs which I did as chicken parmigiana with pasta); this time we have enjoyed a melt in the mouth 'stuffed lamb crown with apricot and Caribbean stuffing'. Absolute knockout! THANK YOU Knitsley!!!

Situated on a national cycle path. A happy and friendly place. Great food ready to eat with indoor and outdoor seating. The retail outlet is full of locally sourced foods. A butcher, bakery, wine and beers, also lots of jams, butter, coffee and tea. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We use the carpark, take a walk along the disused railway, return to have a coffee and a light meal. Well worth a visit

Love this place! The food and staff are brilliant. We go here on a regular basis. Me and my husband also held a meal here after our wedding and it was brilliant. The food was amazing and just kept coming, the staff were so helpful and decorated the room lovely (which had just been newly decorated) would highly recommend holding an event here or even just going for a pie and caramel biscuit! 😍😋

My husband & me were there yesterday afternoon & evening for a beautiful wedding party. What can I say!? WOW! Everything was perfect. The food, the venue, the staff were fantastic & couldn’t do enough for you. The courtyard, even though we didn’t use it looks beautiful & will be lush on a summers afternoon chill out. We will definitely be back.

The farm market they have is very wonderful, there are homemade cheese products, jams of all kinds and baked goods, and soap is home-made, their arrangement of goods on the shelves attracts you to buy with happiness, outside there are outdoor sessions around the fountain, and in the corner a restaurant that includes lunch, breakfast and coffee, parking spaces overlooking a place Very amazing, green mountains and hills and chicken huts, the staff are very classy, thank them 💓

Wow! My manager at work sometimes brings goodies (sweet treats) from here to work.
When passing I stopped to have a look in. The fresh deli counter was stuffed with choice. Daily wrap and pork and apple pie were delicious! The selection of farm goods from jams to fresh veg/fruit was vast. And finally the sweet treats counter was packed with everything, lemon meringue pie, rocky Road, tarts, cakes, meringues. I didn't buy it all but would go back to try more of them.
Service was friendly and reasonably priced.

Beautiful tea tonight...... Angus cubed steak with cubed sweet potato, cubed potatoes & onion in gravy....... with asparagus. Also got the topside joint ready for 'Wednesday dinner' for a break in tradition as I'm normally busy Sundays. Meat and asparagus bought from Knitsley Farmshop, BEAUTIFUL!! Top quality meat & service. Great quick service from the staff as we ordered chip butties & ice cream for the kids. Well done!

Lovely little farm shop, we called in after a trip to hall hill farm. We don't normally eat pies but couldn't resist the ones on offer. Steak, local stout and blue cheese. Really was nice enjoyed outside watching the chickens.
The shops got everything bakery, butcher, beers and pretty much all things nice.
Well worth a visit we'll be back no doubt.
