This shop is brilliant! There's so much to choose from. There's an onsite butchers, fresh loose fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread and cakes, sometimes biscuits. There's also two large freezers full of favourites; loose vegetables to quality ready meals, loose scampi, garlic mushrooms, onion rings, giant fish fingers, yorkshire puddings to loose fruits, sweet pastries; pain au chocolat, cinnamon twists, ice creams and sorbets. They also helpfully have ALL of the cooking instructions for the lose frozen items is there with the pricing, so I photographed all of my favourites with my phone

Recently given 0 hygiene stars by hygiene inspector due to deteriorating meats please google farmer jacks hygiene . The sign outside says we are still wearing masks please do so also, but only one of the 5 staff in the shop had a mask and she was wearing it around her chin despite it being a legal requirement. Brands such as mackies (available at lidl) and others sold at massive prices.

It's always a good sign if local people shop somewhere; 'Farmer Jacks' at Arreton is one such place, it's an amazing farm shop selling local seasonal produce from selected farms as well as local dairy & has a butcher selling local meat produce etc. too.
one of the only places on the island we've been able to find locally grown sweetcorn cobs.
very competitive prices too & because you know that the produce is low in 'food miles' it makes buying food here more sensible than elsewhere + much of it is organic.
parking is easy too.

We visited Farmer Jacks for the first time today and were blown away (and not because of storm Ciara!) The range of local quality produce available is amazing. After picking up some unusual cheese and sour dough bread, we decided to check in on the meat counter where we met Charlie, who was sincere in his approach and was incredibly knowledgeable… about his stock. We went for the rib eye steak as he advised and honestly, once cooked was melt in the mouth. Thank you Charlie! Really impressed with the quality, service and range of goods. We will be returning!
