Founded in Perth in 1960, by Harry Taylor, the firm is now made up of surveyors, architects and technologists. This portfolio of skills allows Harry Taylor & Company to view projects from a variety of perspectives, resulting in both creative and practical solutions. Our clients are based across Scotland-we help them to realise the potential of unused or derelict buildings, or create their perfect home from scratch.
We have worked on a range of projects: agricultural buildings have been transformed into event, retail and working spaces; Listed Buildings have been restored and extended; new houses have been designed and built. Harry Taylor-himself a chartered surveyor-took on projects in the Perthshire area from 1960 onwards, including work on private houses and estate buildings.

Services
Harry Taylor & Company are chartered building surveyors and providers of architectural services. We have been based in Perth since 1960, with our team working throughout Scotland. Our surveying and architectural staff help to restore listed and historic properties, realise the potential of derelict buildings, or create a client's perfect home from scratch-we stay with the project from start to finish.
At Harry Taylor & Company, we feel this mix gives the perfect blend of disciplines to take your project from beginning to end. Our surveyors can assess the condition of your property and give advice on any necessary repairs, architectural staff can then follow this up with how to improve, alter or extend your property.
This group of buildings on the Altyre Estate, now occupied by Glasgow School of Art Highlands & Islands, were in an advanced state of disrepair when the project began. A delicate touch was required to retain the rural charm of this venue, while creating a backstage environment capable of supporting memorable weddings and concerts.
Henry Dempsey joined the firm in 1964 as an apprentice Building Surveyor and has remained at the company throughout his career. After gaining his qualifications in 1969 he was later to become partner in 1977 when the firm began trading as Harry Taylor & Co.
With over 50 years of experience, Henry's knowledge is invaluable and his credentials as a Chartered Building Surveyor make him ideally suited to assessing the condition of existing buildings and providing solutions to their problems.Robbie carried out his secondary school work experience within the company and would also help out on the occasional weekend, usually surveying existing properties.
