Craig Anderson Design
Craig was brought up just outside Dundee and studied architecture at the University of Dundee, graduating in 2008. Following this, he worked with several architects in Dundee, Copenhagen and London on a diverse range of building types and styles including shopping centres, museums, hotels, religious temples and residential projects.

After sitting his Part 3 professional exams at London Metropolitan University in 2014, he joined an architectural design company in Oxfordshire working solely on high quality house extensions, renovations and conversions. Here he found his passion for working with families and private clients, providing personal service and focusing on the detail of small projects.
Services
Based just outside Dundee, Craig Anderson Design is a small architectural practice working personally with families and self builders looking to transform and enhance their homes with contemporary house extensions, renovations and loft conversions. The practice covers the whole of Tayside and Central Scotland but predominantly Dundee, Fife, Perthshire and Angus.
The process for designing, planning and building a house extension can be complex and time consuming. Our clear and simple process is broken down into four stages to make it as quick, efficient and cost effective for you as possible. Before starting our journey, Craig will meet with you free of charge at your house to discuss your requirements, get a feel for the house and how you and your family use your space.
The Home Consultation meeting is a chance to discuss your plans for your home and get free, impartial advice on planning issues, design ideas, potential costs and timescales for your project. The meeting allows you to meet us face to face and decide if we are right for your project.

After the meeting, we will prepare a quote for our services, broken down into the project stages 1-4, each Stage is separate and by instructing us for Stage 1 you are not committed to any further Stages.Once appointed we will firstly need to create a set of 'existing' drawings. To do so, a measured survey will be required.
Before we proceed with the Technical Design, we will review the design to ensure you are happy to proceed or whether you would like any changes made. It is far easier to make changes at this point than it is at a later stage and will avoid additional costs. Any major changes may require an amendment to the planning permission.
The only way to get the best, fixed prices from contractors is through a managed 'competitive tender'. It sounds complicated, but really it is just a formalised way of having several contractors price the job and submit fixed prices by a given date. As it is 'competitive', the contractors will need to provide best prices in order to beat others and win the job (although the lowest price is not necessarily the best option!).
