Services
The bakery was founded by Bobby Ditty, the father of our managing director Robert Ditty, in Castledawson in Northern Ireland back in 1963. Robert took over the business twenty years later and has overseen its continued expansion into new markets and new product ranges. But one thing we've never changed is our commitment to traditional methods for producing hand-crafted baked goods, and using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
In this section learn more about the sweet and savoury biscuit range we offer. Look out for the recipe cards that are now included in each pack of oatcakes, offering you some new recipe ideas for our products. If you are a hamper or food company and are interested in stocking any of our products please contact us for further information.
Why not take some time out of your busy schedule and indulge in some home baking or try some of our recipes using our savoury biscuits. 125g package cream cheese, softened 100g smoked mackerel, skin discarded and fish chopped. Melt 2/3 of butter in a large nonstick skillet over moderately low heat, then cook onion, garlic and thyme, stirring, until softened, about 5 minutes.
Our famous oatcake range are a credit to our close relationship with producers throughout Ireland and have featured at numerous prestigious events such as the Ryder Cup and Wimbledon as well as being awarded several Taste Awards. All griddle & soda breads have a limited shelf life therefore we recommend if not using within 2 days of receipt - freeze!

Lovely spot for some morning coffee, lunch, or afternoon tea. As it's a bakery as well the pastries, cakes etc are just delicious. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much bother. Car park few hundred yards down the street, same side as Ditty's. Can park outside if space. I notice they dont use a thermometer when heating their milk for cappuccinos, lattes, just a sticky point for me as milk can be overheated very easily. I ordered tea instead but if you want coffee go for Americano to be safe.

First time here but will be back. Had Gluten Free breakfast... large portion of delicious food & pot of tea. Prices are great. Staff are friendly... had complicated order but they got it right from the start. Good docial distancing in place, spotlessly clean... great atmosphere. Most people drive past Castledawson on the main Belfast to Derry road.... now I have a reason to stop.... well worth a visit... plenty on offer... especially for Coeliacs.

Haven't been in DITTY' of Castle Dawson for years, we were treated perfectly from we arrived unto we moved on. Having been in Sales ie Fuel ie Petrol & Diesel and if memory is correct they had certainly had 1 or 2 vehicles on the road at that time, How do l know? I sold them fuel & John Boyce of Moneymore serviced their vans This would have been approximately Mid-1970s, brilliant to see their development in what must be a very competitive market DB

Called in today for a break. Lovely coffee and delicious carrot cake! Two little complimentary discs of chocolate which were yummy. Premises spotless as were the perfectly groomed staff with their uniforms and hairnets. Really friendly service. Left with some tasty smelling sour dough bread, pastries, shortbread and fruit tea too!
