Irwin's have been baking bread for nearly 100 years, bread making is something we've grown up with. That's why we put together some of the finest tasting breads that money can buy. Irwin's Bakery celebrated 100 years baking in Northern Ireland in 2012 - WD Irwin started in business in 1912 in Woodhouse Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh as a grocer and was baking cakes and breads to sell in his shop.

His wife Ruth and sister in law Flossie did the baking at first, the demand for fresh bread continued to rise amongst the local community. By 1932 to meet an increasing demand for their products, distribution was expanded with a fleet of horse drawn and motor vehicles to deliver fresh bread daily on a wider basis.

I purchased the white soda breads but was unable to get them again as they were sold out in Morrisons. Managed to get the sliced brown soda bread in Tesco. Fabulous bread and very filling. I will be looking out for other varieties. Fabulous on their own with butter.
Update: I managed to get some white soda breads in Morrisons today.

We have just bought a chocolate cake by Irwin's from our Tesco metro nearby the Abby center in Belfast (for £2), and it is delicious. Definitely we are going to be buying it again.
It was the first time we tried that product, we liked that it's local that's why we decided to give it a go. We Googled the company to see if they happen to be delivering during these quarantine days, it seems they sell in different shops. Wonder if they sell this product at Asda.
We highly recommend trying the cake, we will be checking out the company's other products.

I ordered a Luxury Hamper as a surprise for my wife so we could enjoy some Irish Rose rich fruit loaf for our Christmas tea and a Nutty Crust Turkey Sandwich. It arrived on the 18th well packed and full of fresh goodies. A taste of home, well presented. Thank you.
