For over 100 years the Doughty family have been serving families and businesses in the local area. From the time of our Great Grandfather Thomas Doughty as postmaster and butcher in Eastling to the present day at the butcher's shop in Doddington the family have enjoyed a key role in the heart of the community.

It was in 1919 when Thomas bought the shop in Doddington, for his sons Stuart and Bill, that the Doughtys came to Doddington.

S W Doughty Family Butcher Report

We are an award winning traditional butchers, with our own abattoir and farm shop situated in the pretty Kent village of Doddington. The Doughty family have been providing customers in the surrounding area with top quality meat and local produce from known suppliers for over 100 years. Today more than ever the provenance and known quality of meat supply is highly regarded by buyers from all sectors.

Produce Report

Most of our farm assured beef and lamb comes from the Anderson family at Hole Street Farm, Kingsdown, about a mile away. They are mostly Sussex or Aberdeen Angus Cross cattle. The traditional pork sausage is also sold as a chipolata (16 to lb) cocktail, and ploughmans jumbo sausage (8oz). We are happy to make sausages to most specifications (subject to ingredients etc.), provided the order is for a minimum of 10lb.

Doughtys is fantastic. The meat is such good quality, and always expertly prepared however you need it. The service you receive is excellent, all the butchers are so friendly and knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble. I recommend their steaks and chops, and once you've tried a doughtys sausage you'll never buy a supermarket one again!

Well, here I go again, instead of moaning about something I'm praising S W Doughty's to high heaven! I had a huge selection of chops, Lamb, Pork, rump steak, shoulder of Lamb, oh 2 of those, one for my daughter! And their sausages may have won medals but each bite was pure gold for me. As for their FREE delivery, they come when they say they will.....not like my plumber, but that's another story!!!! Never mind the foody judges, my gold award comes from one of their customers, and that's all that really matters!

Always friendly. Shockingly great selection of foods for such a tiny little shop!! Meat is outstanding taste & freshness. Selection of fresh veg, bread, eggs...and this week I finally tried one the cheeses. The organic Brie is *excellent*

I drive miles and miles to visit them every month. They are always very friendly and helpful. Their meats are always fresh and good quality. They are also very nice in helping me ordering something they don't usually stock such as chicken's hearts. Very much appreciated. Thank you.
