Ghyll Royd House is a purpose-built nursing home with 56 single en-suite rooms, 2 double with en-suite and 1 single en-suite with wash-basin on our general nursing unit; and also a 15-bedded Dementia unit. Ghyll Royd House is set in a semi-rural area of Guiseley, fringing upon both Otley and Ilkley.
We are also fortunate to have the facilities of two large cities, Leeds and Bradford, which are both accessible by a regular bus service or a train from Guiseley Station. Our Philosophy is to provide residents with a secure, relaxed homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance.

Services
Ghyll Royd House has a carefully thought out daily programme to keep our residents occupied and motivated. This changes from week to week but you can view a recent example below. Food and meal times are often considered to be among the most important elements that go towards achieving a good quality of life, and every effort is made to ensure that meals are nutritional, well balanced and attractively presented.

Ghyll Royd was my first care job and I can't think of a better place or people to have learnt from. The training from the management and senior carers was detailed and personal, ensuring the residents comfort and safety was priority throughout.
As I have grown in confidence I have enjoyed working hard with my fellow colleagues. The residents are treated with kindness and a caring nature I will miss being part of as I move up to Edinburgh!
I will be visiting whenever I can so I can catch up with the residents and staff !

I worked at Ghyll Royd for 18 months more or less. it was the best job I have ever had. Loved the staff, always had the best interest of the residents. The residents were the best as well, really made the place. I have so many good memories of the staff and residents it's hard to pick just one. I always looked forward going into work and the shift ahead. If I could I would defi³nitely go back and work there. There is no where better.

My relative lives here. The carers try their best but the communication from the care home has not been good, just text messages and one or two letters which is so difficult when we're not allowed in to see our loved ones. I don't even know what happened to the previous manager, she just mysteriously 'disappeared' in the summer during a big covid outbreak, and noone told us anything. I have hardly seen my relative at all because we're only allowed to see them by standing in the cold through the window or behind a screen once a week in a new cabin they have built. Seeing my relative in this way

My father was a resident of this care home for 2 years and passed away very recently. I can honestly say that this home made my fathers last two years of his life the best it could have been. The staff were very caring towards him and his needs were attended to with no effort. He was very happy in the home and this brought myself and our family much comfort. With the year that has been very challenging for all the reasons in the world, the managers of the care home and staff have been very responsive to us as a family of which we are truly grateful for. Even though we have only been able to see

My father spent the last 9 months of his life in Ghyll Royd having spent the previous year in and out of hospitals and a care home. I found Ghyll Royd so calm and caring and was so pleased that Dad had this environment for his last few months. The staff were lovely and the accommodation very pleasant. I couldn't have wished for better and have been recommending the Home to everyone who may need such a facility in the future.

Very stressful experience and am so sorry that this is where my Mum spent the last few weeks of her life, we had staff members in my Mums room whilst on duty in tears as they were so unhappy, which whilst dealing with a loved one on end of life treatment was unacceptable, the care was not good at all and the place was just cold and uncaring, we rang the emergency buzzer on various visits and got no response, as did the lady in the next room and I personally went in to see if she was ok again totally unacceptable. My Mum died in Ghyll Royd and we heard nothing from them once she was taken by the
