Hypnotherapy can improve both quality and quantity of sleep, increasing creativity and decision making skills. During a session, I use a combination of techniques, including the best of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to reduce anxiety and allow clients to find solutions.

Hypnosis (or trance) is a powerful tool for transformation, but also a very natural state, that we all experience every day. For the purposes of hypnotherapy, only a light trance is needed, allowing the mind to focus and the subconscious to be open to suggestion. At all times you, the client, are in complete control.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy does what it says on the tin! This means that whilst I'm interested in the problem, I'm focused on the solution. Depression, unlike anxiety, seems to have no energy, which makes it very hard to tackle by yourself. With the right support, you can start to do those things which increase your motivation so that depression becomes a thing of the past, no longer part of your future.
Time and again, I see clients for whom choice is a problem, and this is because they have a hyper-alert 'fight, flight, fear' mechanism which just loves to flag up all the possible pitfalls of each choice, and send them into a spiral of negative thought and worry.

Wouldn't it be lovely to be able to just relax and let go of the worries, choosing things because they are right NOW, and not even thinking about what might (or might not) happen in the future (or perhaps what went wrong in the past)?This is what hypnosis can do - calming that over-vigilant 'security guard' and bringing choice back under the control of our rational, sensible brain.
