Established in 2005, Active Physiotherapy has been helping people from across the Bolton and Bury area recover from pain, sports injuries and surgical operations for many years. We make your goals our goals and pride ourselves in being the friendliest, most knowledgeable and highly regarded physiotherapy clinics in the area.
We know the importance of treating all our patients as individuals. Just because your best friend's sister had a similar pain or problem to yours does not mean that the cause of, or treatment for, your problem will be the same, especially as you will likely have different goals and priorities. Our experienced physiotherapists can assess and provide treatment for all kinds of muscular and joint pain problems, including sports injuries.

Sports massage has been a key component of top athletes training, preparation and recovery programmes for years. This is because sports massage can help to improve performance, prevent injury, reduce pain, shorten recovery time and prepare the body for action. It is a combination of massage techniques designed to get into the deeper layers of your muscle tissue that traditional massages don't reach to give you the maximum benefit.

Fantastic team and couldn't do more for their patients with great treatment from both clinic and admin teams. They've completely helped put my recovery on the correct path, having previously had physio with the NHS at Bolton and Salford (or at least their version of it) which was of no help to me and even ignoring injuries. Moving to Active was definitely the right choice.

Highly recommend Richard. I've been seeing him on and off for years after a back injury in 2018, then car accident in 2019. He is fantastic and helped me recover, I am now not needing pain medication when previously I was on (at times) 3 different prescription pain meds to try and get through the day.
After having regular treatment I am able to train back at the gym doing exercises such as deadlifts, squats and leg press. I have recommended him to several friends and family for multiple different issues from migraines from muscle tension to general muscle aches/pains. I still see him once every
