What a beautiful old building the old part dates back to the 16th century
It was a cold night that we stayed but all the buildings were really warm and the staff were really helpful and friendly all in all it was a really nice experience and we will be going back at some stage soon
Oh and not forgetting the grounds around the hall are worth a mention

Very disappointed with this hotel. Stayed here two nights as part of a coach trip. Very minimal staff who seemed very unprepared. Level of cleanliness and service not up to scratch and disappointing if you look at the website before going to stay there. Number of issues with my room; missing lightbulbs, no remote control for telly and room door doesn’t lock, so valuables/ luggage at risk. Food in the restaurant was ok, however there is room for improvement.

Don't be fooled by the pictures like we were, first impression no staff around we waited to check in for 20 minutes, we got to our room (12) and it was freezing, no heat or hot water, they told my husband to take the electric heater up to our 3rd floor room which was red hot... they sent 'maintenance' and he couldn't figure it out so they moved us rooms and it had 2 singles pushed together and still no hot water my husband had to have a cold shower. Didnt get hot water until we had already gone out.

I would avoid this hotel at all costs. We arrived for out stay booked through woucher for my husbands birthday, to be informed that we didn't have a booking and they were full so couldn't accommodate us, despite ringing to confirm our booking.
We were informed by reception that there wasn't a record of our booking even on the cancellations list, but later when we returned home they had sent an email an hour before check in to cancel our booking.
There has been no offer of a refund and no reply to numerous emails and phone calls!! Looks like we may have to take the legal route 😞🤬

We liked the hotel, very comfortable with friendly staff and the grounds are perfect for walking the dog. Risley Hall Hotel has a new manager and I think he will make it even better given time, probably 5 star next time.

To say this hotel is poor would be a massive understatement! The website photos look fantastic and on arrival I thought I’d check in to faulty towers!! The pictures make this place look like a five star hotel and in real life it’s falling to pieces!! Needs a massive revamp (Multi million pound makeover) Friendly staff, clean linen and towels and that is about it, breakfast was included but needed to share three rounds of toast amongst my family of 6 with nothing else offered!!! This will be our first and last visit to this hotel….

Lovely weekend away. We are returning customers. We stayed in a ground floor suite. The suite was spacious and accessible. The decor is tired and the whole place is in need of a deep clean. Obviously this is another business badly affected by Covid. Breakfast was Lovely but a small continental buffet was available followed by a full English or a selection of the full English (No other choice). Our dog was welcomed and the gardens are nice to walk our four legged friend.

Absolutely horrendous experience. After driving 4 hours with two young children, upon check in I was told "we don't have a room for you, sorry. You could try other hotels in the area " apparently there was no hot water or heating so they cancelled my booking but they waited until we arrived to inform us!
Does not look like the photos and the place is so run down.
Avoid Avoid Avoid - at all costs.

Immediate view of hotel was impressive, beautiful building. All fell apart on gaining access to rooms which were exceedingly tired and dated. Bar was closed restaurant too. To be fair we checked in late. The staff were helpful in as much as they offered plates etc for the takeaway we had delivered . So not a great experience not one I would want to return to. They need to up their game.
