Egham Museum is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10.30am until 1pm, no need to book. Keep in touch with us via our active social media accounts: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Established in 1968, The Egham Museum is an independent community museum located in the Literary Institute in the High Street, fondly known as The Lit built in the late 18th Century.
Serving the communities of Egham, Egham Hythe, Englefield Green, Thorpe and Virginia Water, we explore the history of the local area from its earliest settlers in the Neolithic and Bronze Ages to the present day.

Services
We are now open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10.30am until 1pm, no need to book. As we are a small local history museum, we anticipate the length of your visit will be around 30 minutes. We are providing free hand sanitiser and have a set visitor route to guide you around the displays. Visitors will be asked to wear a mask to help protect our team, other visitors and our community.
We encourage visitors to carry our their own research and invite you to book a visit with us. None of the above material can be borrowed, but can be viewed at the Museum for free to support you in your own research endeavours. If you have an enquiry that you need further support with, members of the Egham-by-Runnymede Historical (EbRHS) are willing to help.
This means that the items coming into the Museum will also need to be assessed against a criteria to ensure they too help tell the stories of Egham and the surrounding area and complement existing collections. We can accept any type of item: 3D objects, 2D archives, books and photographs, moving images, clothing/materials.
Welcome to the Egham Museum's online shop, selling bespoke and exclusive products inspired by our collection, surroundings and local stories. The Egham Museum is a registered charity. All income from shop sales is invested back into the upkeep of this historic space, its collection and exciting programming.
