Jackson Steel Structures
By working closely with clients, we consistently produce high-quality work within tight timescales and budgets. Structural steelwork is the skeleton of a building and interacts with several other trades. Consequently, our input is vital in order to achieve a coordinated building design. We have a flexible approach to solving problems and a vast range of experience to draw upon.

This enables us to deliver practical and economical design solutions. Our aim is always to provide clients with our best quality and service. As a result, we enjoy high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business. We have a hands-on management team and are highly self-sufficient. Therefore, we can provide quicker response times, better quality control and greater flexibility than many of our competitors.
Services
Jackson Steel Structures was originally formed by David Jackson in 1947 and moved to its current location at Tannadice Street, Dundee in 1987. Steady growth has been achieved over the years, based on a reputation of quality and reliability. Our in-house teams include all of the estimators, designers, draughtsmen, project managers, fabricators, welders and steel erectors that we require to successfully service our customers.
We specialise in the supply and erection of portal frame buildings, multi-storey buildings, large span trusses, tubular steelwork, heavy industrial structures, curved and cell-form steelwork, machinery frames, staircases, balustrades and smaller bespoke items. Many of our projects involve the refurbishment or extension of existing structures.
Structural design calculations are carried out by our chartered engineers using the latest computer software packages. These include FASTRAK portal frame design and TEDDS engineering design suite. Detailing work is carried out using state of the art TEKLA 3D modelling software. Our draughtsmen issue full sets of arrangement drawings for client approval on every project.
The current fabrication facility at Tannadice Street, Dundee consists of a 2000 square metre workshop with two work bays 12m wide x 84m long. Both bays are serviced by two five tonne overhead cranes and can comfortably handle steel sections up to 22m in length. Our offices are situated in the same building as the workshop which enables the management to keep tight control of production and quality.
We directly employ permanent teams of fully trained and experienced steel erectors. This enables us to have full control of our site activities and gives us the ability to increase resources and accelerate site programmes where required. Our in-house appointed person oversees all crane lifting operations.
