Services
The New Medicine Service (NMS) is a free NHS service that provides support for people with long-term conditions newly prescribed a medicine to help improve medicines adherence; it is initially focused on particular patient groups and conditions. The aim of this service is to improve patient adherence to treatment and subsequently reduce medicine wastage.
Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites which are transmitted through bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. There are 5 parasite species that cause malaria in humans, and 2 of these species p.falciparum and p.vivax pose the highest threat. If you are planning to travel, speak to one of our pharmacists to establish if you require antimalarial drugs.
The morning after pill as commonly referred is an emergency hormonal contraceptive pill which can be taken to follow unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy. It is recommended to take the pill as soon as possible after the sexual intercourse. If you require the pill, one of our pharmacists will carry out a short assessment by asking you to fill in a short questionnaire to establish if the treatment is suitable for you.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service that allows your Doctor Surgery to send your prescription(s) directly to your nominated pharmacy electronically. This means that you no longer need to visit your doctor surgery to pick up your prescription(s) and drop it off at the pharmacy.
Repeat dispensing allows prescribers to issue a batch of prescription for a medication which needs to be taken by the patient regularly. This allows the pharmacy to dispense your prescription at regular intervals for the number of batch prescriptions provided by the prescriber.
An NHS repeatable prescription needs to be dispensed for the first time within six months of being written and can then only be dispensed subsequently for up to a year from being written or until any expiry date specified by the prescriber, whichever is less. The advantage for you as a patient is that you don't have to request or visit your doctor every time your prescription medicine runs out.

Truly disgraceful counter assistant... 6 years we have been using this wonderful pharmacy but today have been treated terribly by an uncaring and unbelievably rude pharmacist... she refused to give her name so can only give a description of her: 5 ft 2 inches tall; 50 years plus and of Asian descent. Please feel free to respond to this review if you are the pharmacy manager ...
