I was taking my daughters for lunch and we came to Eastbourne especially to go to the Arthouse as it has been recommended.
We were not even allowed to sit down to read the menu.
We would of definitely eaten here had the waitress/owner not been so rude, not letting a 78 year old sit down to read the menu.

Sadly service was very slow, being the second customers in of the morning we waited 45 minutes for a breakfast bap. Staff knew they were taking ages, looking very confused with orders and didn’t apologise yet gave the people next to a free meal because they waited too long for there food too. Lots of flies in cafe, found dead fly in the bottom of my coffee. Good food but wouldn’t trust the service again.

We had a very warm welcome. I took 2 teenagers who ordered waffles. The waffles were huge ( a dinner plate full) and the girls loved them. One painted a plate and the other painted a cup. It was a great way to spend a rainy half term Friday, but it does cost a fair bit. The tea cup was £15 and the plate was £18. But it entertained the girls for 2 hours and they have a beautiful object to keep as a happy memory forever.

Really lovely cafe with a chilled atmosphere. Having been vegan for almost 3 years I can't believe I hadn't discovered this sooner, loads of vegan and veggie options. The staff are very accomodating. In a beautiful nook of Eastbourne. My only qualm is that they do get a surge of people for the lunch rush, so a lot of the good stuff goes early.

Helen the chef makes gorgeous food! Vegan and Veggie options abound and the staff are lovely. Stuff to do for kids as well as arts and crafts events (pottery painting especially!!) Friday and Saturday Eve they serve great gin cocktails and excellent tapas. 4 stars only because it's a little pricey but, where isn't these days?!
