Draincure is a small family run company based in Torquay, Devon. We are most definitely not part of a national company nor a distantly situated company trying to give the impression that they are 'local' to this area. All work is carried out by our own experienced staff, using our own vehicles which carry CCTV cameras and modern drain cleaning equipment such as High Pressure Water Jetters & Spring Machines as well as the more traditional Rods.
We have special tools to cut out roots, retrieve lost rods and descale pipes. Our cameras have an internal transmitter so that we can trace drains and get accurate location and depth readings.

Services
Extremely courteous and professional company. Ken explained the system clearly to me and Adam arrived on time the next day to fix the issue which another company couldn't do. Reasonably priced and I would recommend to anyone. Many thanks indeed! We are so delighted with this company and want to tell you so that you may be able to take advantage of their wonderful service in the future, if the need should arise.
Over the phone, we give a clear, no nonsense, quotation together with a realistic expected time of arrival. We get half hour jobs and we get 3 hour jobs but the vast majority of jobs are around one hour. The charge is the same whatever. In effect, the easy jobs subsidise the hard jobs and vice versa.
Draincure was founded in 1983 by Ken Twydell, a former Environmental Health Officer who had left the cosy world of local government to become a partner in a small building firm. Our main area of operation includes Torbay, Teignbridge, South Hams and Exeter, although we do travel as far as Plymouth in the west and Honiton in the east.
These are becoming more commonplace; and with very good reason. Even if the manholes look good inside and there are no signs of blockages, the actual drain pipes may have major defects that would only be visible were a CCTV camera be put down the drain.
Our pre-purchase surveys include a movie of all of the accessible runs of drain and a written report that includes a scale plan of the drain layout and photos of defects that were observed with the camera together with recommendations and costing allowances where appropriate.Often a homebuyers drainage survey is the last thing asked for during the house purchase process and it can be a stumbling point.

Please note that the following information is just my interpretation of what I have researched and been told. I recommend that you consult with your Local Water Authority. Drains serving more than one property (sewers) that connect to the mains sewer system have become the responsibility of the Water Authority from the point at which they join together - even though they may be situated under private land.
