Services
We have Lawn & Garden Fertilizers including many feeds specialised for specific plants or varieties, e.g. In the seed range we have both vegetable and flower seeds from leading seedsman King's and Thompson & Morgan. We stock grass seed in 3 grades, No.3, No.5, and Shade mix, in quantity's as small as 500 grams.
In our wild bird department, we have a range of feed mixes including, Seed & Grain, Luxury, Insect feast, Gourmet, along with Peanuts, Black Sunflower and Sunflower Hearts, Fat balls & Suet Treats. There is also a wide range of feeders, fountains and containers to feed and store the feeds. For wildlife, we stock Hedgehog homes & feeds, Bat Boxes, Nest Boxes for birds from the Wren to Owls.
May & June are the best months with outdoor plants combining with summer bedding and basket plants. We also offer a basket and tub replanting service free of charge. You only pay for the plants and materials we use. Just bring in your old empty baskets or tubs and we will replant and care for them in our greenhouses until the end of May when these plants are safe to place outside.
Autumn arrives with the delivery of bulbs, Daffodils, Tulips, Snowdrops, Blue Bells and many more; you plant them now for a colourful spring. The number one seller at this time of year is Winter Flowering Pansies, which arrive Mid-September along with other Autumn bedding plants ready for pots, tubs and borders to give winter colour.
As the days shorten and nights draw in, the colder weather returns. Increasing rainfall and damp days along with winds and frosts herald the end of another gardening year. Before you retreat indoors there are some tasks to complete to get the garden ready for winter.
Leaves and debris to sweep up and tidy away from lawns and the garden beds, consider putting a 'Mulch' over vegetable and flower beds to enrich the soil and protect the roots of plants from the severe weather.Pots outdoors need lifting onto feet or spacers to raise them off the ground and wrapping in bubble wrap will stop frost from damaging the pot and protect the root ball of the plant inside the pot.
