Acupuncture influences a re-balancing of your energy and a return to health and well being by addressing the underlying root cause of disease, rather than the isolated treatment of your symptoms. Stephanie Curnoe is a fully certified member of the British Acupuncture Council having received a First Class Honours Degree from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.

Research and clinical experience shows that acupuncture can be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. It can also be used along side conventional medicine in the treatment of both acute and chronic diseases. Find out more about treatments, such as what acupuncture actually feels like, or what treatment involves.
Services
This is probably the most commonly asked question from people considering acupuncture. Most people will be able to recall the experience of an injection, but thankfully the sensation of acupuncture is quite different! The most common description of being needled is that of a "dull ache" or "tingling" sensation, or somewhere in-between.
Online Consultations take place via FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp or Skype - whichever platform your prefer. This service is available to both new and existing patients. Please email me to check availability and schedule a session. All payments to be made in advance online. Please note, these sessions are advisory, and therefore you engage with them at your own risk - this is something I legally have to state.
According to the results of my national cross-sectional survey of acupuncture in practice in the UK (published by the British Medical Journal) the number of patients turning to traditional acupuncturists, like myself, for help with infertility has increased fivefold over the past 10 years and now accounts for approximately 9% of our practice.
Your first session will often last longer than subsequent sessions, typically between 1 1/2 and 2 hours. I will need to assess your health by asking many questions, some of which may seem at first to be unrelated to your symptoms. During this process, I will gather information about your health history, family health, the way you live, eat, sleep and so on.
Stephanie Curnoe gained a First Class Honours Degree and Licentiate in Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine at Reading. As part of her Masters Degree in Health Services Research at the University of York, she designed and conducted a national cross-sectional survey mapping Acupuncture Practice in the UK, details of which have now been published by the British Medical Journal.
