Welcome to Aldercar Infant and Nursery School, and Enhanced Resource School for Deaf and Hearing Impaired (ERS). Aldercar Infant and Nursery School is a small, friendly community school for children aged 2-7 years. We have five infant classes, a nursery for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds, and we are an Enhanced Resource School for deaf and hearing-impaired children.
At Aldercar Infant and Nursery School, we have high expectations of our children and provide a safe, happy environment where children feel confident and learn to become active members of the local, British, and world community. We hope you enjoy looking around our website! Aldercar Infant and Nursery School is also part of Embark Federation.

Services
We look forward to working with you and your child as they take their first steps from home into the wider world. We believe that every child really matters and we will work with you to make sure your child does the very best they can, in everything they do. At our last Ofsted inspection, Ofsted acknowledged that we have created "a caring ethos in which everyone is valued and included fully."
We are part of the Embark family of schools, which includes eight other schools across the Derbyshire area. Children across the Embark schools all have the opportunity to work towards gaining the Embark Award. As we are an infant school, it means that our children will only have time to complete about half of the activities whilst with us, but they may continue them at home when they move to their new school at the end of year two.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and all staff and visitors into school play a full part in keeping the children safe. Our School has robust policies and procedures in place and expects anyone visiting or working on our premises to have an understanding of their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding and has expectations around conduct and behaviour.
For the 2021-22 year, we expect to receive approximately 17500 in Sport Premium funding. We plan to continue to invest in sports coaches to work with all classes within school. Staff work alongside the coaches to develop their knowledge about certain areas of PE such as gymnastics, games, cricket and tennis.
At Aldercar Infant and Nursery School every child is encouraged to be an individual, who makes the right choices, based upon understanding of, and empathy for others. They understand their place in society, at an age appropriate level and become positive and active members of our school and wider community.
