We recently instructed Trevor Howe from Johnson Gillies to conduct a survey prior to purchasing our first house. We would like to thank him for providing us with thorough report and at short notice. We found him to be very warm and helpful when we called to talk about the survey, which was greatly appreciated during the often daunting process of purchasing a house.
A Chartered Building Surveyor is a type of Chartered Surveyor involved in all aspects of property and construction, from supervising large mixed-use developments to planning domestic extensions. Building surveying is one of the widest areas of surveying practice. We have worked on thousands of projects and earned a wealth of experience for both residential and commercial.
Surveys are carried out for a variety of reasons: pre-acquisition for owner occupation; acquisition of leasehold interests; for identification of building defects, planned maintenance and the like. Our professional institution, RICS, has identified four levels of residential pre acquisition survey, called, level 1, 2, 3 and 4. All except Level 1 are suitable for due diligence.

This company is the best we have ever come across, extremely thorough and knowledgeable ,they saved us from developers who were good at what they do however Johnson & Gillies ensured important buildings regs were met.
They were worth every single penny.
Highly recommend them!

Quite the most frustrating surveying firm to deal with. Duty of care to the client has been absent for most of our recent project
