Services
Claire is an experienced and qualified podiatrist who practices full-time from her Disley based clinic. Having graduated from Salford University with a degree in Podiatry, Claire worked for the NHS in a community and hospital setting, and later as an associate podiatrist at a busy physiotherapy practice.
A callus is excessive thickening of the skin commonly found on the sole of the foot and toes. These are usually caused by excessive external forces such as ill-fitting footwear or biomechanical problems including abnormal gait or bony structure. However, calluses can be caused by congenital skin conditions and in such cases may appear on none-weight bearing surfaces.
Whether you require routine foot maintenance or a complex course of treatment, your first visit will typically take up to 40 minutes. Your feet will then be examined and any necessary treatment carried out. After your first appointment, further treatments will usually take around 30 minutes each. Wherever possible, your podiatrist will provide a diagnosis and treatment for your foot complaint during your first visit.
We recognise the importance of keeping our patients, as well as their feet, healthy and happy. Sometimes, we need to go the extra mile to do this, literally, in particular with patients who are elderly or housebound. If you would like to arrange a home visit, please telephone the clinic to arrange a time.
There is car parking at the station or on the road, opposite the clinic. You can also park at the Ram's Head; 20p for an hour and free of charge after 6pm and at weekends. The safest place to cross the busy A6 is at the pedestrian crossing near the Co-op. Disley is easily accessible from New Mills, Furness Vale, Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chinley, Buxworth, Buxton, Hayfield and High Lane.

After a long stay in hospital, my mother needed her nails attending to. Claire could not be more helpful and attentive. Not only is she excellent at her work, but she also brightens up your whole day with her infectious smile and her charming personality. My mother lives in Liverpool and now insists on me driving the 40 miles East to see Claire for checkups!

For many years walking was painful, due to my ingrown toe nails, this was because I was cutting them incorrectly, as I know now. In desperation I called upon Claire, that was a few years ago. To day I really enjoy walking without pain, and I get to see Claire once a month to have my feet and toe nails checked.
