Jill is the Cake Artisan, behind the scenes, designing and creating your perfect cake for your special day, Jill specialises in Creating and Designing your Perfect Wedding Cake for you extra Special day, and offers a free no obligation consultation in the shop and also a "try before you buy" taste session.
Your wedding day is THE most important day in your life, though we're sure you'll have plenty more after your marriage, and the perfect wedding cake makes all the difference to your special day. All our wedding cakes are handmade and decorated to order by Jill our master artisan baker in our kitchens in Castleford.
When you want a slightly smaller fun cake for your celebration our giant cup cakes are ideal. As with our larger creations we can create lots of amazing designs in a wide range of colours. You could even have a set of smaller cup cakes to accompany your giant one. All our giant cup cakes are handmade and decorated to order by Jill our master artisan baker in our kitchens in Castleford.
When you are looking for a cake for your special occasion you want to know everything about it. Sponge and chocolate cakes do not have nuts as an ingredient but there may be nut traces present. Occasionally we may not have the resources to meet demand so please order as early as you can. For bespoke cakes, our decorators can only create the finished article from what they interpret from the wording of your order.

We chose Cake Bakes to create our wedding cake for us this weekend. The cake was absolutely fabulous, it exceeded all expectations and was both gorgeous to look and and delicious. We had lemon drizzle on the bottom and Victoria sponge on the top layer. Our guests loved it. The cake was delivered to our venue in North Yorkshire, and was presented on a beautiful cake stand. Thanks so much to Jill and Carl, absolutely faultless service, highly recommended!

This was my first cake from Cake Bakes after following on social media. After having to cancel my sons cake because of lockdown 2020, i contacted Cake Bakes who repsonsed straight away with my new date. Communication is excellent especially when we really didn't know what we wanted so was gobsmacked when i saw it, it was amazing, very very talented.The cake was best cake i have eaten. My sons face was pricessless when he saw it, he was that happy he video called everyone to show them. Will 100% definitely use again. Thank you so much.

They recently did a moana cake for my daughters first birthday. The cake was absolutely stunning, it looked perfect - way better than I ever imagined, and it tasted beautiful, the sponge was lovely. I'm so glad these were recommended, the price was really good they could actually charge more given the obvious skill and talent that goes into making the cakes. Super impressed and i will most certainly use again.

I treated myself to a birthday cake from Cake Bakes and am so glad I did!! My cake was absolutely incredible from the quality/taste of the cake to the amazing icing and decoration. The cake was above and beyond my expectations in terms of design and taste. I took the cake into work and everybody commented on how delicious it was. Communication was great too. A huge thank you to Cake Bakes and Carl for helping me with two beautiful custom cake orders for my sister-in-law and niece’s birthdays. I live in America and so happy and thankful I found them. We got married at the weekend and had our cake from Cake Bakes. We were well taken care of throughout.
Carl was always on hand to answer any questions we had and couldn't have been more helpful.
