Red Dragon Karate Thursday
Red Dragon Karate is an independent members club based in Crewe. We study Shotokan Karate, but we also include aspects of other Martial Arts, including Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Aikido and Krav Maga. Red Dragon Karate has been formed in Crewe by 4 core members, with 4 individuals running the club there is always a feeling of excitement and enjoyment during training sessions.

Each instructor approaches techniques and teaching styles from different angles. Shotokan karate is one of the oldest styles and one of the most traditional. We are not a sport club, but we do train with sparring sessions and self defence techniques. Some styles and clubs focus purely on the sport side, whilst this has its positive points it lacks in other areas.
Services
Here is the important information about our Karate club, if you're thinking of joining a club or sending your child, then its important to find out this information in advance. We have full liability insurance, (students also take out their own insurance via ourselves for a low cost annual fee). AllOur instructors are Enhanced DBS checked to conform with UK law (not all clubs are, ask to see their certificates).
With over 40 years of Karate experience between the main 4 instructors. They all have other skills such as teacher training qualifications, first aiders and child safeguarding. We ensure that we offer the best training of our abilities & knowledge. Training is more than just time served (however if an instructor has only been training for 3-4 years then that means that they have limited experience).
We only charge 3 per person per session, this is one, if not the lowest in the area for Karatelessons. We want to give our students the chance to enjoy karate and not breaking the bank at the same time. Annual Insurance - 14 for first year / 12 renewal - This lasts you 12 months, it is also a record of your gradings.
Training starts at 19:00 and finishes at 20:00 for children and junior grades, 20:15 for senior grades. We have plenty of seating for parents who wish to watch the class, or maybe you don't feel confident in starting on your first visit, then why not just watch and see what we do? As a new starter you will be taken in with the other new starters and introduced slowly to what we do.
We like to do a mix of basics, kata, sparring and bunkai weekly. These are the core modules of Karate, Kumite, Kata and Kihon (basics). We do not focus on any element more that the others, as they are all as important as each other. For new members we like to ensure that you understand the basics and are confident in them before introducing more dangerous or harder techniques.

If you are thinking of trying out martial arts, then this is the club for you, welcoming and friendly, the instructors are really approachable, patient and dedicated to passing on their skills. I have tried other clubs in the past locally, and this club far excels with positive attitude and encouragement, no one is made to feel inadequate and all abilities are accepted and catered for, come along and try it, it's great!!
