Very disappointing, place stinks of dogs. They have 2 elderly long haired dogs which they try and hide the smell of with very nasty strong chemical fragrances and everything is covered in dog hairs, their photos must have been taken a very long time ago as its very warn now and needs work. Joyce the host is unwilling to hear constructive criticism and becomes quite unpleasant, very sad really as Mersea is such a great place, I would look to stay elsewhere as this experience really spoilt our time on and enjoyment of the Island.

I was made to feel very welcome from the moment i stepped thro the door. What a lovely place to stay. The hostess Joyce, was warm and friendly. The decor was beautiful and did not disappoint.
The breakfast choice was the only problem because it was all so nice!
I have stayed in other bed and breakfast places and by far this was the best
Well worth the price and well worth a visit
