Very interesting free addition to fort George with mountains of information, clothing, pictures, and objects, even with the top floor closed (was on my visit due to covid). Other than that, good covid secure measures due to its one way system. Only backdrop is that it’s not suitable for mobile disabilities due to the layout but good for social distancing though. Need to return when the top floors open.

Free to enter, though they do hope you make a donation to help them stay open. There is a fantastic array of military paraphernalia and hardware, with a vast array of exhibits on the Highlanders’.
If you are at Fort George it’s well worth a visit, and the staff are very friendly and very knowledgable.
You just complete a track and trace when entering, and some of the interactive exhibits are unavailable.
Overall it’s worth a visit.

Very interesting place steeped in history. Can easily spend half a day in the museum. Immaculately well kept and still very original despite still being used by the MoD. Has a Costa and a Historic Environment Scotland visitor's gift shop. Also plenty of very friendly and helpful HES staff on hand to answer questions etc.

Mobility Friendly and lots of room for kids to run (on lower level). I called ahead and they brought a motorized scooter out to the parking lot for my mother. The staff was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The history of this fort is long so plan on spending hours, or the day there. There is a cafe and also a restaurant. Its a beautiful drive out of the city and not as crowded as most attractions we visited.
