The Africa Travel Specialists are a small, specialist tour operator that tailor-makes luxury African safari itineraries to the countries of East and Southern Africa. The company is a culmination of more than 15 years of visiting such locations as the mighty Masai Mara, the mystical island of Zanzibar, the peaks of Mt Kilimanjaro, the game-filled plains in South Luangwa and the wilds of the Laikipia Plateau to name a few.
A luxury African safari is a genuine adventure; but with so many destinations, camps and logistics to consider, planning your first safari can be a very daunting process! Reading up on the best place to go, the best time of year, the best itinerary and the best company to use is a very time-consuming process.

The great continent of Africa encompasses game-filled savannahs, lush rainforests, idyllic beaches, vast deserts and idyllic islands to name a few. In this section we have tried to give you a brief run through of where to go and what to do in each of the East African countries.
As a specialist operator to Africa, there is much that we know and haven't been able to run through on this site and so we always recommend that the simplest way to go about planning your luxury Africa safari is to get in touch. There are three key sociological and geographical elements that have played a key part in the history of Botswana, what is, arguably, Africa's most pristine wildlife destination.

This was our first time using a travel company and could not be happier with our choice. Nick created the perfect honeymoon itinerary for us on short notice. Being that it was our first time to Africa, I had tons of questions and Nick was always timely to respond by either email or phone call. He offered excellent feedback and suggestions that turned out to be spot on.
The travel rules changed 3 weeks before our trip (rapid testing requirement was added). Nick notified us immediately and also arranged for our COVID PCR tests while in Zanzibar.

Gemma at The Africa Specialists was terrific! She created an individualized travel plan for us to Tanzania including a stay in Zanzibar, a safari in the Selous Game Park and an incredible stay in a Maasai village. All the travel arrangements worked out perfectly and we can't say enough about using this company. It was truly a 'trip of a lifetime'!!!

Hugely indebted to Nick for a wonderful honeymoon, spent in Tanzania (Selous Reserve) & Mozambique (Guludo). Very much a tailored experience to our wishes, with invaluable insight into the regions beyond expectation. When I mentioned the wish to explore Northern Mozambique, instantaneously knew Guludo would suit us perfectly. Promptly answered and resolved any queries, even when we were on the trip itself.
Wonderful trip, glow with reference to locations, particularly Guludo, an amazing beach-side lodge, beautiful water, fantastic diving, brilliant food and of course felt extremely welcomed by

I travelled to Tanzania with Tanzania Specialists in late August 2014.
Nick’s organisation was faultless throughout - helpful, prompt, efficient.
I visited two parks: Katavi and Mahale Mountains. In Katavi I stayed in two camps: Katavi Wildlife Camp (7 nights) and Palahala (3 nights). Katavi Wildlife Camp was very good in every respect, i.e. comfort, food, service. What lifted it from the merely very good to excellent was the presence of Nick Greaves who, in my many years of travelling in Africa, was the best guide I have come across. His knowledge was astonishing, drawing on years of experience
