A.J. Read Upholstery is based in Waterbeach, 5 miles north of Cambridge, and was established in 2000. We specialise in the re-upholstery of antique and modern furniture and pride ourselves on the quality of our work. We can undertake a number of bespoke projects which includes loose covers, curtain making and a wide range of bespoke made cushions.

A J Read Upholstery stocks an extensive range of fabrics and deal with some of the best known suppliers in the country. We can supply quilting, upholstery, fleece and drapery fabric all at a very competitive rate. We are also able to supply leather and vinyl and can match most examples, including aged and distressed.
Everyone has their own ideas when it comes to design but not everyone has the same taste. A second opinion can be invaluable when making design decisions, this is where we can help. Our vast experience with upholstery gives us an opportunity to work in many different environments giving us a unique insight to the world of interior design.

I have had an antique chair reupholstered and the outcome is incredible, we are extremely happy.
Fairly priced for the work we had done, good communication throughout and just generally a pleasant transaction from start to finish.
I would absolutely recommend if you are thinking of getting any reupholstering done

Do'n't go buying a new sofa, it will be saggy like this in no-time. Adrian was fantastic! He brought new life to my 10 years old sofa! Really focused on what I wanted and he seemed keen to give me value for money at all times. He worked really hard to get help us get the sofa done before the weekend, which was hugely appreciated.
