The founder & owner of Penhazy Dog Retreat, Sally Penn is a true dog lover. As well as breeding her own family of beautiful weimaraners she has many years of home boarding, day care & dog walking experience. Sally wanted to create a safe, fun and loving environment as an alternative to traditional kennels.

When you need to travel, leave town or simply want your dog to be in good company while you are at work you can leave your best friend with us. Traditional Kennels may leave your dog stressed or anxious in solitary confinement with only a short walk for daily stimulation. For those much needed rest times in winter we use our warm underfloor heated kennels with dog beds.

Doggy Day Care Report

Our Doggy Day Care is supervised interactional play. Its there for dog owners who have a busy lifestyle and do not want their dog to remain home alone. Doggy Day Care works in much the same way as a childminder or nursery. You can bring your dog to us and we will look after them while you are at work or out for the day.

Amazing place. We left our puppy for the day and he loved it. Playing with all the other dogs rather than being locked in a kennel all day. He was knackered when we picked him up. Also they clipped his nails for us and did an amazing job. Will definitely be going back

My dog had great fun for a day while we visited family near by.
She got to play with other dogs, run about and get dirty, like dogs should ...while we did human stuff like sitting about drinking tea, making small talk. 😆

Rolo came in for his very first groom and I was so nervous about how he would react but I didn’t need to be , he looked wonderful when I collected him , his cut was done to a very high standard and I was… assured that Rolo had been absolutely fine , I booked his next appointment straight away , such a wonderful friendly place and I would definitely recommend , so impressed

First visit at the groomers for my Cavachon today and I'm very happy with the result. We've been to a few different groomers and this one was the best for overall groom, I will return. Dog has come out looking teddy bear fluffy with lovely rounded feet and a cute face. Very clean and smart. Professional job from friendly staff. Dog was very happy with his treatment. I arrived a little early for collection and could see him wagging his tail through the window. Parlour cleanliness needs some attention but I would recommend. Good value for money.

Buzz was groomed today, this was our first time trying the grooming parlour, Buzz looks amazing, everything I asked for was done to a standard which was above and beyond, I’m so happy that buzz enjoyed his visit too. Already booked for his next groom. Thank you he looks beautiful 🐶

After my dog stayed here for a weekend he came home very subdued and off his food. When we spoke to them to ask how he was over the weekend, feel we were told what ever they thought would get shot of us. Not impressed. Unlikely to use them again.

Sally and her team looked after our 2 dogs whilst we were on holiday, and we couldn’t have chosen I better place and people to care for them. Alfie, our oldest dog fell ill whilst at the kennel, and Sally and her team and her vets looked after him and kept us updated all the time until we got back. Unfortunately out old furry boy has a serious… back injury and has arthritis due his age and vet bill was expensive and the treatment going forward too, and Sally knowing all that showed what an amazing human being and dog lover she is did not want to charge any money for both our dogs stay

Have been using Penhazy for boarding our black labs for years. Would not hesitate to recommend them. Dogs jump out of the car and run in to the kennel which is all the reassurance that I need that they are happy to be there.

Our spaniel Milo attended today for a groom, and he looks amazing. From the initial enquiry to the end result I’ve been very impressed. Milo is a nervous dog at the best of times, and it appears that Milo was no problem at all apart from being scared of the hair dryer... which is no surprise as he goes nuts at home whenever it’s on! I will certainly be recommending anyone to come here, and we will certainly be returning. Thanks guys! 🐾

A special place for your dog to spend while you're away. There's plenty of space for dogs to run and comfortable individual kennels for a good sleep. Thoroughly recommended.

My 2 fur babies stayed for 2 nights and where the kennels are there is a glass front for dogs to see what is going on. It was cold and was impressed to know there is under floor heating in the kennels.
I could tell this area does get a hose down however the entrance inside the walls and floor was dirty.
Outside there are sectioned off spaces for dogs and as its nearly winter and cold the area just looks muddy.
Once we got our dogs in the car we could smell that they stank of dirty wet dog. As soon as we arrived home they went straight in the bath. The bed and blanket we gave them also smelt

Our dog loves seeing Sally. We can go away with the knowledge that when we come back our dog will be happy as well. He isn't stressed or in a hurry to leave it is like he has had a holiday too. I wouldn't trust anyone else with our dog now we have found Sally at Penhazy.
