Pelican Childrens Centre

The nursery comprises of a galley kitchen where healthy snacks are prepared daily, alongside three main playrooms where we provide a wide range of activities that are based around your child's development and interests. Children are supported with their intimate care in a separate monitored area with both toileting and nappy changing.

With the needs of parents in mind, we offer a full day care service for children 2 to 5 years. Whatever your childcare needs; we aim to be as flexible as possible to meet your requirements. Opening times are Monday to Friday 0800 to 1700, with sessions from 0900 to 1130 and 1230 to 1500 with lunches from 1130 to 1230.

Pelican Children's Centre is open to every family in the community. All children are welcome irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, language, culture or ability.

Admission of children with special needs, either significant learning difficulties or significant medical status will be considered on individual needs and discussed with the parents /carers and the professionals involved in their care, as we want to make sure that their every need can be fully met.A waiting list will be held if places are unavailable and we will contact the parents when a place becomes available.

The Early Years foundation stage is an important part of everything we do at Pelican. It sets certain standards that providers must meet to make sure all children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. Through EYFS we seek to provide a secure foundation through learning and development opportunities that are planned around each child's individual needs.

When your child has been offered a place at the Centre you will receive a parent's pack and we will arrange a settling in programme. We encourage parents/carers to attend the centre with their child as many times as it takes to ensure your child feels happy to be left and settle in the daily routine.
