About Gilchrist's Report

From scrumptious scones to succulent sweet pies - three generations of the Gilchrist family have baked them all. Over six decades, we have perfected our baking art. So, every pie, quiche, savoury or loaf of bread is given the same care and affection by our team of skilled bakers. Coming from Yorkshire, we think we know a bit about what people in Leeds and further afield want.

Our Bakeries Report

You'll get that same welcoming smell of baked bread and fresh cakes as soon as you come into one of our bakeries in Leeds and Boroughbridge (and get a smile from our staff to boot). There's nothing nicer than freshly baked bread and individually made cakes and savouries. That's what our customers have been saying for years.

What We Make Report

We make all of our own dough from scratch every morning, so we can safely say that there's nowt much fresher than a Gilchrist loaf in these parts. Our Josie is the member of our family with the sweet tooth. From the finest chubby rogues to the stickiest Bakewell tarts - teatime treats are her speciality!

I love to praise people and companies that do a wonderful job.
Gilcrist Bakery provided us with some of their wonderful delicacies 🍰🍪 🍞 for our annual Silverstone trip.
I went to the Stainburn parade shop and Megan served me and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with. 👏🏻
Everything was just perfect 👍🏻

Called in this morning, first visit to these premises. Everything looked delicious and nice friendly staff. Lots of choice from patisserie to hot and cold sandwiches and loaves etc. Picked up a bacon sandwich which was lovely, and some flapjacks and tea cakes to take home. All look delicious.🌷

Beautiful little bakery just on york road best breakfast sarnies about,
the ladies behind the counter are so polite an helpful service is incredible! Also the cake an bun selection is perfect and hot drinks to go always look forwsrd to going through the week for breakfast

Can’t find the opening times on the official website anywhere , so you check multiple things on google few say 6 and a few say 7 then u proceed to walk round and it doesn’t open till 8 so had to go to greggs great 👍 bacon and sausage what I got from there not , Gilchrist sandwiches = 10/10 gilchrist business management like my *************

I have been going to this bakery for years and years and years buying their gorgeous breads. My sons eat this bread like sweeties.! And when their mates come round they help themselves too! So whatever is in the bread...... thank you Gilchrist's! We all love it in our family especially the well done bests.
It's the 'bready Mc breadface' of bread...
