Brief: Remodel the house to provide kitchen extension, utility room; re-roof the lounge, a better bedroom layout a with an en-suite, and consider future loft conversion. Solution: R Dawson Architect originally visited the client through an 'Architect in the House' initiative by Shelter. The client liked Richard's ideas and approach to the alterations, extensions and improving the thermal performance of the house.
Brief: The client bought a large old style detached pitched roof bungalow constructed about 1930. With a growing family they wanted to refurbish the house, extend the ground floor accommodation adding bedrooms and bathrooms and convert the loft space to a master bedroom and en-suite. A replacement garage was needed all to make the most of garden views to the rear.
Brief: The client owns a two storey house constructed by a developer about 10 years ago. They have a growing family and wanted more space on the ground floor. Space was limited and the circulation was poor. They wanted to demolish the inherited u-PVC conservatory and extend full length across the rear of the house to form an extended kitchen dining area.

I appointed Richard to do architectural drawings for a development project in Eastburn. I couldn't meet Richard at the site because of other work commitments, so I gave him a telephone briefing about what I wanted to do with the house, Richard understood my plans really well. I found it very easy to communicate with him, whether it was over the phone for advice, email or when we met in person. When working with Richard its clearly apparent that he is very knowledgeable and he likes to do things correctly with meticulous planning. For future new builds, I'd like to use him again as I know he can
