I live in a residential development in South Edinburgh with 25 proprietors. Charles White Ltd has been our factor for many years. During the 3 years that I have been unfortunate to have Charles White as my factor there has been many issues due to bad / non existent communication, failure to carry out agreed repairs, no response within the 5 days in their customer charter, simply no response at all, failure to respond to telephone, text or emails and exorbitant increases in the property insurance fee. The list is endless. How this company has managed to exist is extremely hard to understand as any company with such a low rating would normally cease due to customers leaving. This is a poor property management company company. Having lived in my home managed by them they have done very little to maintain our gardens and building, however they do insist on an annual property management increase for doing very little. We have had numerous property
managers over the years, none of whom have added any value. I am still unsure what happens when a propery manager does a site visit as we have had a broken slab for over 7 years, still not repaired. A broken fence still not repaired. Never once has our internal carpets been cleaned in over 15 years, front door painted once

Well, I will keep this short and sweet, very unprofessional and unresponsive. A leak started in Nov 2019 in our new build apartment. If our Charles White 'contact' put us much effort into steering towards a solution (which is fairly simple) rather than passing me from 'pillar to post' and looking for reasons not to resolve the leak would have been analyzed, reported on and made good by now. CWL please do not do another 'dear John' 'contact our Customer Relationship Manager response, I just ask that you solve this.

My experience of dealing with Charles White is very positive. I flagged up an issue regarding a nuisance tree to a Mr Robyn Rae at Charles White. The issue took time to address since this was a very large tree that had become a H&S concern with the roots growing out of the ground and damaging the public path next to it. Robyn was most professional and tactful and had to deal with myself who had complained, the Residents Association that were responsible for maintaining the communal land, a tree surgeon for professional advice and the Council regarding the damaged path that needs to be repaired

Robyn Rae is the factoring manager for my development, and we regularly meet up at her inspections. I've found Robyn to be friendly, helpful, and will go the extra mile to deal with, and solve any issues that arise. She is currently assisting us in ensuring that the Council empty our bins on the appropriate days! Her prompt response to emails and telephone calls, not to mention her patience and tenacity are very much appreciated. An excellent ambassador for Charles White!

Charles White have been professional, efficient and courteous to deal with, always answering communication in a swift and personable manner. Since taking over responsibility for my development, Robyn Rae, as Client Relationship Manager, has been excellent and recently resolved an issue I had with a sub contractor. Robyn went above and beyond, making sure I was satisfied with the outcome. It is a perfect example of what can be achieved with team work, talent and a positive can do attitude.

The company acts as the liaison management between flat owners in my building. They are generally very good at responding to client requests, particularly if emergency works are requested.
I recently went through a nightmare of a situation when the flat above mine developed a leak that resulted in my whole bathroom being drenched in toilet water. Fiona did her best with what she could and tried to reassure me and provide me with as much information as possible while chasing up the flat owners, insurance and contractors. Their role in this situation is somewhat limited, as I understand it, but

I find Charles White an extremely efficient Property Management Company. If I telephone regarding some matter, all the staff are invariably friendly and helpful. If I send an email, it is answered fully and promptly.
I am a member of the committee of our Owners' Association to which Sarah Wilson comes regularly. I am always impressed by her grasp of detail and her comprehensive knowledge of all matters relating to our development.

Charles White have managed or small flatted development in Musselburgh for several years now. They provide us with a very efficient and courteous service. Our housing manager Stephanie looks after our development very well and is very friendly and helpful as are all the staff we have had contact with at Charles White. I would not hesitate to recommend them to manage a development.
