Set in the lush Forest of Bowland, between Longridge and Chipping, the Derby Arms is popular with walkers who are able to enjoy some of the most remote walks in the English countryside and stay the night in our country pub with rooms. We mix the best ingredients with great personalities and atmospheric settings to create memorable experiences.
Services
We are especially passionate about seafood; it's what Joycelyn, our founder, was brought up surrounded by; her father being a renowned fish-merchant and a family history in the fishing industry dating back to the 18th century. Naturally, this sees our food style lean towards light and fresh seafood dishes.
Diners and visitors can stop over for a night or two, making the most of the menu and wine list, as well as the stunning location we're lucky to be part of. We have the most wonderful surroundings of the great outdoors, pretty market towns and historic attractions - right on our doorstep. Our country pub with contemporary and modern rooms ensures good comfort and good facilities with specific dog-friendly rooms.
We serve breakfast every day and are available to book for parties of any size for breakfast meetings. We provide a menu and facilities for all occasions both corporate or leisure. Please call or email to book or for further information. If you would like to receive more information, menus or to discuss your own event or occasion then please contact us.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed in a very comfortable room, and enjoyed dinner in the bar. My partner had the fillet steak, and it was cooked exactly how he likes it. We had a very good bottle of wine from the extensive wine list. Delicious coffee too! Thank you everyone 😊

Amazing dog friendly, 5* plus restaurant
The food was absolutely to die for - extremely high standards maintained through the whole place. The fillet steak is absolutely to die for and the chefs know exactly how to cook it to perfection. Cannot recommend higher. The staff are also super friendly, welcoming and accommodating see you all very soon!

Popped in for a few drinks and a cheese board ( which had a great selection of cheese ( 5 different for £11..and was enough for 2 )) .. extremely popular and the food looked great en route.. hopefully will return for food. They were busy as it was a Sunday but found space inside when it got cold outside for us.

Sunday lunch. Pretty good, kale as part of the main course chewy and unnecessary, starters expensive and desserts ordinary. Steamed pudding with custard very disappointing- did not look at all grown-up or appetising.
Service good.

Unfortunately my stay did not live up to the standards expected from reviews left by others; as a coeliac I was served gluten and was billed for bar items not ordered. Seafood special was delicious however.
Food - I ordered a GF full English breakfast one morning and was served black pudding. When I asked if it contained gluten the waitress checked and returned to tell me it did and that I shouldn't eat it; no offer to provide me a clean breakfast or removal of cost from my bill.
Outside of the seafood specials, the menu did not impress and was minimal, food ordered from standard menu was bland

Had lunch here on a Sunday recently. Fillet steak was very good but the fish pie had too much potato and not enough tasty fish. The chocolate brownie for pudding was first class. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

We visited and sat outside with the dogs, the staff were fantastic, the food was good but from the menu I was expecting great. Overall a nice pub. I'd like to go back and try a different dish.
