Colchester Pet Stores is an independent family business now being run by the fourth generation of the same family. We have been trading in Colchester for over fifty years and have built up a wealth of experience in all aspects of pet welfare. In 2017 we were proud to be runners up in the Petquip national competition to find the best small pet shop in the country. Out of over 3,500 entries we were in the top three. I went to ask about dog leads. The owner wasn’t available but a child was seated behind the toll. When I asked a question he called his dad. His dad seemed helpful at first but seemed to say anything for a quick sale. Because I chose not to buy ( I didn’t know if the lead would fit my dog and don’t live in Colchester so would be hard to return if I had to) the owner huffed as if annoyed and marched straight back upstairs which I thought was so rude. I left feeling awkward and glad that I didn’t give him my custom in the end. Won’t go there again.
