Welcome to Cheswardine Hall, our family owned and run nursing and residential home for the elderly. My family has proudly specialised in the provision of care for the elderly since opening the doors to Cheswardine Hall as a care home in the summer of 1985. Today, with the support of our excellent team we continue to run Cheswardine Hall as a family, offering care of the highest standards within luxurious; comfortable and homely surroundings.
Describing life at Cheswardine Hall is a difficult one. Simply because we all want and need different things from our lives, so a 'one size fits all' approach does not work. What I can say is that we offer the freedom and support to live the life that you choose, in a peaceful, spacious and relaxed environment.

Services
In early 1984 my parents secured the purchase of Cheswardine Hall and embarked on a challenging journey of restoration, renovation and refurbishment. Their dream was to create a care home that stood out from the rest; embracing 'family' and 'quality' in delivering a chapter of Cheswardine Hall's history that shares the opulence of a country estate with an environment designed to support the comfort, independence and dignity of our residents.
Cheswardine Hall was built between 1875-1880 according to a neo-Elizabethan design, by Glaswegian Architect John MacVicar Anderson. The estate was around 3,500 acres in size and the gardens were reputed to have been designed in the style of Capability Brown. The man responsible for its build and owner of the estate was Charles Donaldson-Hudson, whose family proceeded to live in Cheswardine Hall for three generations.
A number of teams work together at Cheswardine Hall in providing our service. Each contributing to the lives of our residents and together enabling our residents to enjoy independent and comfortable living. Our Management Team are the Poole family. Together we offer clinical nursing skills, business and estates management.
Cheswardine's main asset is its surroundings. Set on a slightly elevated position in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, one can see for miles in any direction, whether outside or from any of the room windows. Our nearest towns of Market Drayton, Eccleshall and Newport are but a stone's throw away, while Shrewsbury, Telford and Newcastle-under-Lyme are a short and scenic drive away.
Over the years, with the help of our resident's we have developed a huge range of activities. Some for groups, some individual, some in-house, others a short trip away and all inclusive, with fun, companionship and stimulation at their heart. Whether your interest is learning a new skill, or revisiting an established one, we are confident we will have something to offer.
