The Hazelmere is an independent, family-run caf and delicatessen in the southern tip of the beautiful Lake District. We have a strong ethos that is built around a responsibility to our community and environment. We are proud to support local suppliers and bake, make and cook all of the dishes and products we sell on site.
This not only means that the food we produce has the lowest number of food miles possible, but also that we are putting something back into the local economy. Surplus bread is donated daily to Manna House homeless charity in Kendal; oil and cardboard are recycled; our carrier bags are biodegradable and our premises lit using energy-efficient LED lighting.

Had a nice lunch here. I had fish and chips while my wife had the steak pie, both dishes were really good the pie had no void under the pastry it was full of steak to the top, my wife said it was one of the best she'd had. I finished off with a vanilla slice again it was very good along with a nice coffee. Will be eating here again.

Underwhelming after reading reviews and all the award winning this and that.
We went for afternoon tea and it really wasn't great.
Poor selection of sandwiches, egg, salmon and plain old ham.
The bread was lovely though.
Selection of cakes was like an asda selection. No surprises or that 'Oh I wonder what that is feeling' as we have had at other less expensive afternoon teas... Dry carrot cake (how do you dry out carrot cake?), custard slice (whaaaaat?) and dry millionaires shortbread.
The scone was okay but had already given up on enjoying it as ran out of coffe and just wanted to get to

It's always a pleasure visiting this well known cafรฉ and shop. Due to Covid restrictions you cannot enter the cafรฉ through the shop but have to use the main entrance to cafรฉ off the road. The meals are reasonably priced for the area and portion sizes are ample. Me and my friend had a coffee and a cake each, plus there's a tea shop upstairs selling a variety of loose tea and bags. Next door to the cafรฉ is their deli and bakery shop. Delicious cakes and home made bread's aswell as gins and vodka.

Four of us went for lunch.
The triple cooked chips were almost as good as the homemade butternut squash and carrot soup!
The toasted sandwiches were delightful, a decent list of teas and coffees, friendly staff and a good location made for a very enjoyable visit.
I recommend this dog friendly place if you're in Grange-over-Sands'

Absolutely perfect! Wonderful service, delicious food - with an array of choice for every mood - and a wide selection of real leaf teas not found elsewhere. There's a well-stocked tea shop upstairs with every imaginable article of tea-ware and tea blends. It's lovely to find a cafe that is consistently excellent.

What a superb breakfast this morning. Same exceptional standards, yet additional protections in place around where you enter and exit, no of persons inside the premises. Immaculately clean as it always was. And… to top it off, a bloody good cup of tea to boot. This place never lets you down, well worth the trip from Lancaster. Thank you
