When you want some heart-warming homemade cooking you may want to visit a well-established family run restaurant, using only the best in local produce. Our family run venue was established in 1987, previously in a partnership between Fred and Linda McBride and their two sons Andy and Mark. Now run by Andy as restaurant manager.
Our customer base varies from business people to caravanners and tourists. The "Caravan Club" which occupies the site adjacent to Forfar Loch and the local B&B's frequently recommend us at The Castle Club. We cater for families with children, who are welcome subject to licensing laws, couples of all ages who may be celebrating or simply enjoying a night out.

This is a popular local restaurant which offers basic, unpretentious, (dare i say) old fashioned meals at inexpensive prices.
I would have liked to have given a higher rating but i wasnât entirely happy with my meal.
My âbruschettaâ starter can probably be better described as cheese (and tomato) on toast. It certainly wasnât bruschetta. It was, unfortunately, not even a good cheese on toast as the cheese rather bland.
For my main i had the pork with black pudding in a peppercorn sauce. Whilst the pork was fine, the black pudding really didnât taste good, so much so i couldnât finish
