Nestled in the beautiful Angus countryside yet only a stone's throw from the A90, the Drovers offers you rustic charm and character, be it in our elegant dining rooms or the quaint and cosy bar with its fires and welcoming atmosphere. With a passion for food and drink we believe in exceptional service and hospitality, sourcing our food locally and wherever possible from farms and producers we know and trust.
With a great wine list, some good beers and excellent regional food why not come and see us. We visited the Drovers Inn while we were staying in nearby Kirriemuir. Our first visit was simply a "rekkie", where we enjoyed a couple of drinks and a nice conversation with the lady at the bar. Back for another evening with friends and we all had a wonderful meal.

Dishe (brie croquette, vegan risotto) I tried were good but not amazing however, my husband found each item (wood pigeon, venison, apple trifle) he ordered as perfect and gave his meal 5/5, he couldn't fault anything. Each mouthful was flavorful and unique.
My dessert of winter Berry cheesecake was delicious 😋

My family and I dined at the Drovers Inn last night, as a birthday treat for myself. We have been before and always loved the food and again weren’t disappointed.
Sadly, the experience front of house wasn’t quite as good. We had an exceptionally long wait after finishing our main course and actually had to call one of the waitresses over to clear our table and give us the dessert menu. The restaurant was much quieter by this time and it seemed the staff were more focused on cleaning tables and rearranging furniture. It certainly put a dampener on the evening, when all you can hear is scrapping

Beautiful building. Busy place, staff were very attentive, if they didn't know anything, they would find out quickly and come back to you despite being so busy. Food was delicious. As the only vegan in a party of 8 I was surprised by the good choice. The food was fresh, tasty and very good quality ingredients. Definitely would recommend. Would love to return at some point. Thank you

Lovely setting out in the countryside. The Drovers is very popular and has plenty of seating, indoors and out. The food was delicious, the service was great and very attentive and the strawberry tart was to die for! Lots of menu options, a well stocked bar, clean facilities and covid sanitizer etc throughout. Highly recommend, we will be back! 5*

I have been out for the meal "in these unprecedented times of Covid" but this was an slightly different due to the subtly different rules to date but then again who really cares🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️...
The Drovers a seriously out of the way place. The order was for two well-done fillet steaks with the usual side of chips, onion rings, mushrooms and tomato but the lady of the house wish to try something different. A Chicken Supreme, a nouvelle cuisine of roast chicken breast would be a close description but as this is my review we'll stick to the subject, "The Steak".

Food was delicious and probably some of the fanciest i have had in the Forfar area. Prices were reasonable given the quality of the meals. Service was excellent. The staff even brought out a birthday cake we had prepared as a surprise for my grandad and cousin whose birthdays it was.
Portion sizes on the specials menu are smaller than on the bar menu but the dishes are more fancy.
There is also a lovely bear garden to drink on a hot day.
Will definitely be back.

We were here for our 25th wedding anniversary coming across from San Diego we selected theirs place after a recommendation from Townhead Bed &Breakfast Brechin.
I emailed and set my reservation and received a copy of the menu. It was a Thursday evening when we arrived and pretty quiet. The staff were excellent and Tracy was very patient with us at the end when we were the only ones left in the establishment. The food was excellent, the ambiance was perfect. I came here earlier in the week for a meal with my mother. It was Tuesday steak night (not good for me, being a vegetarian with vegan tedencies whenever possible...), when I booked I was however assured that alongside the two ' la carte vegetarian options the chefs would make sure there were some other things on the menu which I could eat.
The drovers has a lovely setting, a cosy pub set amongst fields and rolling hills. There is a garden and children's playground. The interior is tastefully decorated, if not a little dark. The staff are friendly and yet none invasive.

This hotel is a lovely place to eat. I eat there regularly but I have to say that at times the food is not up to standard. I paid quite a lot for a dinner for four at Christmas and the meal was not very good. Mostly the food is delicious which is why I go back again and again, but I have had three meals which I have not been happy with, and nothing was done to adjust the price or an alternative offered. I had a Sunday lunch there on one occasion and the beef was so rare it was uncooked. The vegetables were scarce on the plate and the potatoes tiny and shrivelled probably because it was late in
