Services
Argentine Tango is an improvised social dance with a rich musical heritage! It's a musical genre and a social dance. Its lyrics and music are marked by nostalgia, expressed through melodic instruments including the bandoneon. The generally accepted theory is that in the mid-1800s, the African slaves who had been brought to Argentina or their descendants began to influence the local culture.
We teach our students to dance improvised Argentine Tango on the social dance floor. The skills acquired enable students to express themselves creatively and to build phrases as they dance instead of preset patterns. Our teaching is underpinned on a solid foundation in the fundamental elements of Argentine Tango.
Provide high-quality Argentine Tango instruction in a fun, creative and supportive environment. Provide personalised learning which allows students to learn and grow at their own pace and abilities. We are continually developing an exciting program for social dancing and related activities. You can subscribe to our Newsletter and get regular updates by adding yourself to our mailing list.
Focus primarily on Tango Fundamentals, the essential elements as a building block of the dance. We offer a combination of scheduled Group classes, private lessons as well as practice sessions. Our inclusive teaching/learning practices reflect differences in age, physical and learning abilities of students.
Bournemouthtango is firmly dedicated exclusively to the cultivation and development of social Argentine Tango and its unique social tradition. We widely open our doors in a warm welcome to all dancers in our classes and social events regardless of where they take their lessons or dance. The origins of today's Argentine Tango Social dance and culture can be traced back to the 19th-century social dance in the milonga.

Excellent teacher, who is particular on the basic steps which is really important before progressing to the more technical dance steps. He makes it enjoyable and is very professional.
