In 2006 I decided to change his career path and trained to become an Osteopath. Qualification is achieved through an intense and demanding 5 year program, underpinned by clinical training, resulting with a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Osteopathy. Further exams have to then be undertaken to become registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
We use a system of diagnosis, taking of a thorough case history and examination process to detect damaged or injured parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments nerves and joints. Osteopathic treatment will use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase joint mobility, relieve muscle tension, enhance blood supply and nerve innervations.
In November last year the National Institute of clinical excellence (NICE) updated its recommendations for Lower Back Pain and Sciatica in an effort to re-evaluate best practice for treatment of these conditions. The summary of this is a combined management of your symptoms with a manual therapy package, some forms of anti-inflammatory medication in the short term, psychological therapy and exercise.

Approximately 5.4 million people suffer from Asthma in the Uk. It is a breathing condition that affects the airways going into the lungs. Something usually irritates these airways causing them to narrow, with the lining becoming inflamed and swollen. This is often accompanied by mucus or phlegm which can further narrow the airways.
