In 1991, John and Euan MacGregor started the Edinburgh based partnership, J & E MacGregor Plumbers, working out of their office in Corstorphine High Street. Within a short while the ability to do all things gas was added and they became Plumbing and Heating Engineers. During the following years the Partnership grew to the point, where, in 2002 the Company moved to bigger premises in Loanhead, from where we've operated out of since.
We have now been established for 20 years, with the decision to turn the Partnership into a Limited Company taken in 2009.

At J & E MacGregor Ltd., we aim to provide a reliable, friendly and quality service for all types of plumbing, heating and gas servicing throughout the Edinburgh area. From the replacement of a tap washer through to complete bath & shower room refurbishments and from gas fire and boiler servicing, including Landlord Certificates, through to full boiler and heating system replacements.
Over the years J & E MacGregor has worked hard to establish a good reputation amongst our Customers for all things gas, however, that's not how we started. When the Company was first started we were predominantly plumbers. Our first years in business was learning how to do these little plumbing jobs well.
Although we are also plumbers, J & E MacGregor have worked hard to established a good reputation amongst our Customers for all things gas. We have built a good working knowledge when it comes to gas and have the qualifications and experience to tackle most domestic gas installations, regardless of whether they are big or small.
We offer a full annual boiler service on most makes of gas boiler, at very competitive rates. Need a repair? No problem, all our Engineers are 'Gas Safe' registered, with relevant and current experience in servicing and fault finding gas appliances and systems. If it's a 'Landlord Certificate' or a 'Gas Safety Check' your looking for, we can do these too.
We understand that every situation has its unique contributors, so the advice we give can only be that - advice. However, it may 'buy you some time' to allow you to get someone in to fix it. We have collected together a few hints and tips, that may be useful to you. The aim of this information is give you, the customer, a better understanding of how to cope in an awkward situation.
