Scott Findlay Plumbing and Heating Engineers

I have used Scott Findlay on many occasions over the past few years and thought it was time to post a review. The works performed include: installation of new unvented hot water cylinder; boiler services; gas fire repair; re-route condensate pipe; conversion of heating system to sealed system. Every time a thorough, excellent job. All of the engineers I've met are very good and happy to explain the works they've carried out and answer any questions.

In particular, I would like to thank Simon Pugh who is brilliant. He is hard working, takes great care in his work and I have total confidence in his repairs. The customer service is always first class and Claire is very friendly and helpful. Scott Findlay are my first choice for heating engineers. I've recommended to several of my neighbours who have all been very happy with the works.

We cannot praise Scott Findlay enough! We have had various bits of work done recently - an honest quote, a radiator fitted, a flood dealt with and also a flood in the old man's house above dealt with. Various plumbers have visited and everyone was courteous and professional. The old man's flood was bad on many levels and they got stuck in and fixed it. Our boiler care etc will be with them from now and we have already sang their praises to. neighbours and friends.

The service provided was great. The text messages and email reminders before the appointment were helpful. Duncan was on time, friendly, informative and tidy. And his use of overshoes to protect our carpet was very much appreciated. We will happily use Scott Findlay for our annual service and any future plumbing jobs.

Alan carried out my annual boiler service, and couldn't have been more professional, friendly and efficient. Really delighted with the service, and I will definitely be using the company again in future.

Scott Findlay came out and repaired a faulty bath drain within a couple of days of me contacting them. They managed in difficult circumstances to effect the repair without having to move a W.C. Professional and speedy service with great email communication throughout. They also serviced our gas combi boiler this year, highly recommend this outfit.

Really pleased with the service I received from Scott Findlay. After finding a leak in an empty property I'm looking after they managed to fit me in to come the same day to check everything over and stop the leak. I felt fully informed of my options and was able to book a suitable time for the repair to be carried out. Kept fully informed throughout of who was arriving when.

Work carried out over 2 days and the guys tidied up before leaving even on the first day. Would be happy to recommend Scott Findlay and they will be first on my list for any future plumbing needs

We had a boiler fitted by Scott and team just over a year ago. The installation went really well- there were a couple of snags which were quickly resolved but the boiler went a year with zero issues. Fast forward a year to the first service and we decided to use them again. The first guy accidentally unplugged our thermostat when replacing the casing, so we weren't able to control the heating for the weekend (lesson: don't book a service on a Friday if the company doesn't work weekends).

The second guy comes on the Monday to fix and when he replaced the casing, it caused the 224 error. This time we decided to go with Bosch care to resolve as it's getting a bit farcical. We were asked for feedback by Scott when we were asked to pay, during which time I explained an apology would've been fair but got zero response. I guess it's a busy time and those messages are automated. Needless to say won't be using Scott's team for next year's service but cannot fault to overall installation a year ago, so still 4*.

One year later edit: Claire was great after we had issues last year. We had this year's service with them again and there wasn't a single issue this time. Changed our review to 5* as they really do go the extra mile when there's issues. Thank you!

I contacted Claire from Scott Findlay very last minute as my boiler broke down and had no heating or water. I was wanting a new boiler installed, which Claire managed to respond and get me booked in within a week. The quote was very reasonable, and was made clear of what work was needing completed. Brian was our installer and he was brilliant! Very nice chap, and whist we had our cats running about him, he was very professional. Thank you again, Claire, Scott and team.

I had recently had to call upon the services of Scott Findlay to repair my Viessmann boiler and can heartily recommend Scott Findlay for their prompt and expert service. Their professional approach is welcome and the repairs were carried out quickly and on time.

My boiler was serviced today by Duncan who arrived near the start of the one hour time slot. I found it very reassuring that before he came into my house, he put on protective overshoes and a wore a mask. Despite the boiler being in a rather awkward position, he just got on with the job and was friendly, helpful and efficient. He was friendly. This is the second time my boiler has been serviced by one of Scott Findlay's staff, and I will definitely keep using the company. Many thanks.

I recently had my boiler replaced and I honestly wouldn't use any other company. I had good advice over which option to choose, appointments were made and adhered to. When an unexpected problem occurred and a part was needed, every effort was made to procure it in a timely fashion. It's heartening and unusual to have a company that has old fashioned customer values and it is much appreciated.

It is now been almost two years since this company installed our new central heating boiler and would highly recommend. Installation went smoothly and have absolutely no issues with the engineer who carried out the work. He came across a couple of problems (where the boiler was to be installed) during the installation but resolved them very quickly, Was also very impressed by the service I received from this company prior to, during and after the installation.

We recently had a new boiler installed which also necessitated upgrading the gas supply pipe. The upgrading of the pipe meant lifting carpets and floor boards. The guy doing this did an excellent job as when he finished everything was put back perfectly and any mess made was tidied up very well. Thanks Brian. We have used this company for a number of years for various plumbing and servicing jobs and all of the employees have always been punctual, courteous, friendly, helpful and professional. I have used Scott Findlay a couple of times now and each time I have been impressed with the quality of the service and the work done. Most recently they installed a new boiler for us. We recently had a boiler installed. They came and gave us a quote, after checking our current system, we had an informed discussion about what was needed and why, without any extras sales talk! The engineer arrived exactly when expected, and just got on with the job in hand, but with a very polite, helpful manner. Would highly recommend and definitely use again for any plumbing work.

As always, exceptional service from Scott Findlay Plumbing and Heating. They took great care to remove an old back boiler without damaging the fire surround and carpets. While installing the new boiler they also took time to correct small plumbing issues they found as they worked. Fabulous work by Brian and Cameron, always very friendly and took time to explain the new system to my elderly mother so she was comfortable with the new controls when they left

Choosing Scott Findlay because they were a local firm with excellent reviews was definitely a great decision. Over a number of months we had a boiler service with Scott Findlay, followed by an appointment to fix a specific issue and then our boiler and some piping needed replacing. The process of getting a quote for the boiler was very efficient and detailed.

The work that was needed done was talked through with a breakdown of costs. The process of organising an appointment date and time is excellent. Reminders prior to the appointment are given and information on the day about the arrival time of the engineer that is doing the work too. The engineers are polite, friendly and thorough with their work and when explaining what they have or are doing.

They are very conscientious about making sure they leave the place as clean as it was when they arrived. Scott Findlay's communication is superb. Dee and Claire are outstanding at keeping you informed throughout the whole appointment process and making sure you are happy about everything too. They genuinely care about their customers and will go out their way to help solve your issues.

Another really nice touch was receiving a bouquet of flowers after the boiler has been replaced. With a message thanking us for keeping it local. They also kept it local by using a local florist. It's small things like this that make me have hope in humanity in these turbulent times.

We used Scott Findlay to install a towel radiator and a new boiler - it was easy to arrange a suitable time and they made sure we could do our boiler install as soon as possible (on a Saturday) so that we wouldn't be without heating / hot water. They were friendly, prompt and managed to finish the job faster than originally expected. Very pleased and would use this company again.
