Services
Opposite our cafe we have our own little takeaway service, we call it the 'snacker'. We sell homemade restaurant standard food to go, plus a wide range of ice creams, from 99' whippy to the fantastic local Roskilly's ice cream. We also serve hot drinks and have a fridge full of refreshingly cold drinks for those hot summer days, as well as homemade cakes and snacks.
Gylly Beach Cafe has a wonderful neighbour in the form of a glass-fronted beach bakery, created purposefully to supply the cafe with freshly baked artisan bread. Some of the breaded-type delights gracing the cafes dishes, include olive-laced focaccia, light brioche burger buns, perfectly-baked bread rolls, and classic fougasse a la provencale.
By train: We're a short stroll from Falmouth Town station, turn right out of the station and follow the incline towards the main road - follow the Gyllyngvase Beach road sign and you'll not miss us! NOTE: We will not be taking any bookings this year (2021) by day or night, it will simply be a case of heading down and grabbing a table.

Apart from the really lovely coffee, and friendly staff, we were very impressed that all the staff were wearing masks. Having just arrived back from holiday, where masks were worn in all cafes, this was very reassuring. And Gilly has not had any cases of covid amongst staff! Excellent service and care for the customer!

A great sand beach! This beach is very large and is walking distance from Falmouth. There are a number of pay and display parking spaces nearby but you will want to get there early if during the busiest period if you want a space.
The beach has public toilets which are functional but don't smell great and could do with a bit of tlc and more frequent cleaning.
There is also a small cafe where you can get ice creams, drinks etc or you can visit the Gylly beach restaurant for a more substantial meal.
During peak periods there are lifeguards on duty.
If you are staying over at Maenporth you can

We love this beautiful beach. But were really shocked to see a tower block being built so close to the beach! The new development will completely change the whole nature of the place. Clearly things do have to move on BUT given most of the new flats will be unaffordable to locals and full of holiday lets it's a real shame!

As beaches go, this is one of the best. Well looked after, with life guards in the summer months. It has a wonderful atmosphere, with students grouped around fires, children playing, and people relaxing. There are toilets attached to the beach. It is easily accessible from the town centre, with plentiful parking very close by. Gylly Beach Cafe is literally on the beach, and it is one of the best eateries around.

We came here last saturday afternoon and it was really busy .
we ordered the shell on prawns in garlic and herbs with caibbatta bread and red onion salad.
well we loved it the prawns were massive for he price we paid.
the slices of caibbatta were rather thin but very tasty, and the prawns could of had just a touch more garlic but that is my taste as I love garlic. the salad was lip smacking.
we was very happy with the service and the meal so two pleased cusomers

We loved this place. Beautiful beach location with heated terraces, a pleasant interior restaurant and (despite the previous review) very polite staff indeed. Probably an idea to book the inside restaurant in advance as it was full of happy punters when we were there but outside was available - we dined well on sharing platters of veggie chilli with home made nachos. Well worth a visit...........

I came here with friends after an 8 hour train ride from London and we were famished! Unfortunately, we were informed that in the afternoon all they served was desserts. Not even a sandwich? Nope. Raw veggies? I don't even need them cooked! Sorry. Oh well, a coffee and piece of dry cake that has been sitting out all day it is then.
The reason it didn't get 1 star is that the view is beautiful! And if we'd only known, we wouldn't have come during 'no food served in a cafe' time. We sat on the outside patio, drank our coffee, and cooed over one of the other

One of the best beachside restaurants I have eaten at. As I live in London I found the prices reasonable and the food well presented and tasty. The seafood chowder was excellent but the BLT was a bit odd, inch thick slices of granary bread. We visited on a bank holiday Monday and got a table for 7 straight away. This was my fourth visit and it is potluck if you get a table and therefore get to eat but worth trying. We have a live band playing whilst we were there.
