Popup Bikes
We put community before profits and provide a place where cyclists can meet, interact with each other and exchange tips and stories. By giving cyclists the space to help each other, we aim to nurture Manchester's cycling community. Our workshop incorporates bike repair, servicing and maintenance, the sale of high quality pre-owned bikes and allows cyclists access to quality service at reasonable prices.

Popup Bikes is Manchester's original cycle caf but you don't need a bike to come in & say hi. We welcome anyone that appreciates good company and great coffee. Our caf serves speciality handcrafted coffee to wake you up on those early mornings or keep you going long into the evening. We are open from 7:30am until 7:30pm.
Services
We provide maintenance, servicing and repairs for all types of bike on site. We aim to complete all maintenance work on the same day and if we can, we'll fix your bike while you wait. We service and repair all types of bike including Bromptons, tri-cycles, recumbents, unicycles and even prams and we supply and fit accessories such as locks, mudguards, lights and much more.
All our coffee is Fairtrade, freshly ground in house, sourced directly from the producer and roasted locally. Our house coffee is Barnraiser by the Heart & Graft Coffee Roastery and we have a guest Single Origin Espresso available for those who fancy something a little different - please ask your barista.
As well as bike repair specialists, we're also able to offer a selection of bikes for sale through our shop and host our famous Bike Jumbles on the first Saturday of every month. Lovely people from all over Manchester get together and buy and sell used bikes, unwanted, vintage and specialist bike parts right here in the shop, and outside if the weather lets us.
If you are suffering from pain when you ride, want to improve your performance or have a more comfortable ride then maybe it's time for a bike fit. During the bike fit we will adjust your bike and the components at the three points where your body comes into contact with your bike; your saddle, handlebars and pedals.
Rewarding cycle users for their patience during times of change (typically when there have been changes in cycle parking arrangements or building repair works etc). Once we have understood your requirements we would develop a package of services designed to achieve this objective. A number of our corporate clients come to us to address a particular issue and then continue working with us to support their cycling strategy.

Without a doubt one of the best customer experiences I’ve had. Nothing but professional and friendly communication from the team at pop up.
Having taken my bike initially to Halfords for a bike chain fitting which I was going to pay for, I was told there was nothing they can do ‘because I had not purchased the bicycle from them’ - *even though Halfords themselves booked the bicycle appointment for me over the phone…
I decided to go to pop up bikes on corporation street, and was given plenty of advice, friendly service and my repair was resolved WITHIN MINUTES! ~ as a new cyclist I appreciate

Rode over today to get some spokes adjusted and managed to fall off by putting my front wheel down a tram track on the way. Felt a real idiot. The guys at Popup bikes were kind, sympathetic - checked the bike over and sorted the spokes - all for the price of a cup of coffee. Amazing service and much appreciated.

Amazing experience - They were able to fit me in the same day, were incredibly friendly on the phone and in person! Worth travelling for if you're a bit further away. 10/10 service and very good value for money. Fixed a few small things on my bike without mentioning/charging and pumped up my tyres following the repair of my gears. Could not recommend this bike shop enough.

Awesome service, really good value for money and friendly staff. Bike fit is significantly cheaper than most places because it doesn't use computers and expensive gear to measure the fit, but the average user doesn't need that extra 10% of precision it brings to be honest. My rides are now pain free and I've fallen back in love with my bike. Would 100% recommend and will be back for any future issues. Plus I got some.grrat advice on cycling in general while we talked through the fit

I can't speak highly enough of this bike repair shop. Their communication was amazing throughout the service of my bike. They bent over backwards and went above and beyond to try to source a part for my Brompton, which had been discontinued. Their prices are very reasonable, worth every penny. Reliable, friendly and informative staff. You can tell they love what they do and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for an outstanding service.

I've been here a few times now. It was especially useful where I used to live as I'd pass it on my bike enroute from my daily commute.
Soon as you step in you are warmly greeted with a cosy patch of living room to your right filled with arm chairs, books and board games to chill or pass the time while your bike gets attended to. The coffee has always been spot on too with very fair prices attached.
As for the bike repairs/assessments themselves they are very knowledgeable and transparent with pricing etc. It is quite busy at the moment with depending on your bike can take a while to get looked

Simply outstanding.
The lovely people at Popup Bikes could not have been more helpful and friendly. I have just returned to cycling after a modest 30 year break: both my bike and I needed a refresher.
New brakes, new gear set, fresh air in the tyres and I am ready to go again. Excellent value with really useful advice and tips thrown in for good measure.
Very highly recommended. Thank you, guys.

I Called in recently to have a brake/service check and right from the word go I knew that this was the right place to take my mountain bike. Absolutely brilliant staff who explained everything fully what needed to be fixed and adjusted. I would highly recommend a visit if you need any repair or service for your bike. Five stars from me.

A bit out of the way from the city centre, but lovely atmospheric place. Retro-style design adds an edgy touch. However, while the coffee was awesome, I find it a little bit expensive for this type of establishment. I paid around - 3 pounds for my mocha. Small selection of cakes was present as well - mine was delicious, hope at some point to sample others!

I thought this place was completely awesome - what a hidden treat in what are the random backstreet brownfield sites that Manchester has to offer, this city is going to be even more amazing once all the city centre gets filled in over the coming years with the NOMA district looking particularly exciting!

They say they've been open for years but I haven't been down this way for a good 5 years when my friend used to live in the Green Quarter apartments.

Basically it's half bicycle repair shop, half coffee shop - but without a hint of hipster - it's really down to earth and
