We decided to have a last minute night away in this lovely part of Yorkshire. On a Frosty day the room was lovely & warm, our bed was nice and comfortable and breakfast was really good before our walk up to the waterfall. Great place to go for a drink, have a meal or organise a party - the Fountain never fails to be a fantastic place to socialise.

Visited for drinks one afternoon. Pub had a nice atmosphere. Good selection of cask ales. Nice touches such as a phone charging point which was free to use and towels for customers’ dogs. Couldn’t fault it for a few pints.

Great pub. Lovely atmospher. Good food. Dog friendly. Not the smartest pub in Hawes but by far the best for food, welcome and drinks.

The best way I'd describe our stay at the fountain is tired. The rooms are clean the breakfast reasonable and the staff friendly however it needs an update. It can't have been decorated in the last 20 years and more like 30 probably so whilst there's not a great deal to put you off staying here is not something I'd really recommend

A proper pub. Friendly staff, good beer and very reasonable prices. Had Sunday lunch there today and it was lovely . The open fire was on , the place was busy and I couldn't fault anything.

Lovely little pub, lots of ales and a nice fire too. Food was very nice, only slight criticism is that chips were frozen which is always a disappointment and at £3 a bowl I assumed incorrectly they'd be home made. Wouldn't put me off and we'll definitely be back

On our most recent 3 day visit to Hawes the weather hasn't been great so we visited a few of the local pubs quite a bit more than usual, most of those visit were to the Fountain hotel this has a great atmosphere and fantastic staff and landlady who are very welcoming they make a point of coming around handing out dog treats to all the visiting dogs I believe the treats are donated by the local pet shop so thanks to them too.
We also had a Sunday lunch there too and it wasn't a problem for them to do a side order of turkey and Yorkshire pudding in a takeaway carton for the dog though he did eat
