Services
I have gained wide ranging experience and seen most types conditions amenable to osteopathic treatment, all shapes and sizes. I prefer to practice in a structural manner using hands-on techniques, combined with bespoke exercises to help you to manage your own symptoms. Additionally, I have developed an interest in Sports and Overuse injuries related to Power lifting as well as Back, Neck, and musculoskeletal pain.
Of course we see lots of other problems as well from knee, hip and ankle problems through to jaw pain, arthritis and chronic pain, and all ages. We often see people in their late 80's and 90's, so age is no barrier. A number of patients everyday come into our Clinic with these problems, so that's a lot of experience!
Georgia also uses Cranial Osteopathy, which was part of her Masters undergraduate course at the European School of Osteopathy. It is a gentle passive form of treatment where osteopaths manipulate a subtle involuntary motion in the body to help it relax and unwind stresses that have built up in the tissues.
In the clinic Carl and Georgia have undertaken further post graduate training to use Western Medical Acupuncture also known as Dry Needling within their osteopathic treatments. It is not one of the forms of traditional Chinese Acupuncture, where points are chosen using a traditional diagnostic approach which typically includes examination of the tongue, eye and pulses and should not be confused as such.
Muscle Energy is popularly known as "MET" is a form of manual therapy that uses the gentle muscle contractions of the patient to relax and lengthen muscles to help normalize joint motion which can used to assist the rehabilitation your recovery from injury.
It is based on the principle of reciprocal inhibition, a theory that muscles on one side of the joint will relax to accommodate the contraction of muscle on the other side of that joint when indirect pressure is applied.Originally MET is derived from osteopathic techniques from a study by Dr. Fred Mitchell and his son Dr. Fred Mitch Jr.

After a couple of months bad back pain, doctors appointments and numerous pain relief, I came across Jessups Osteopath clinic yesterday at the recommendation of a friend and was seen this morning. Straight away the Osteopath noticed what the problem seemed to be and explained everything to me in clear detail before beginning the treatment. After an hour with him, not only do I feel positively better, but I have a greater knowledge of what my troubles were and how to manage them. Couldn’t recommend Jessups enough.
