Michael Platt are able to restore damaged or worn out jewellery pieces, replacing ring bands, rebuilding up weak stone claws, re-polishing chipped stones. The Goldsmiths know how valued jewellery is to individuals; they are accustomed to working with and handling treasured fragile family heirloom jewellery, often successfully undertaking delicate and complex jobs which other workshops refused.
General Jewellery Repairs are offered on site and are carried out by skilled Goldsmiths within our in-store Workshop, visible from the shop. The Goldsmiths undertake all repairs such as ring sizing, re-tipping stone claws, re-rhodium plating, cleaning and polishing to put the sparkle back, general breakage, gemstone, pearl and diamond replacement, gemstone and diamond re-polishing, building up worn links, chain repairs etc.

Brilliant personal service every step of the way. I wanted a diamond engagement ring and was able to easily discuss different stones and design options with Grace sending sketches back and forth. I decided on an emerald cut stone with a platinum ring. Communication was excellent and the ring delivered on time and discreetly to an agreed address. I proposed by lake Windermere having hidden the ring in the sandwich tin. A beautiful ring - my partner loves it!

Fantastic service! I had an idea of what I wanted for my now Fiance's engagement ring when I first visited the store, luckily Grace was on hand to provide me with multiple options. We looked at a number of rings before deciding that we would combine the diamond from one with the band of another and it turned out better than I could have imagined.
The process was so simple from start to finish despite the pandemic.

Highly recommend Michael Platt Jewellers. As it was our 30th wedding anniversary we decided to get my 3 stone engagement ring repaired. Missing diamond and the complete setting was replaced. My ring was always beautiful but Michael Platts have made it even more beautiful! They did a wonderful job and even managed to get the repair done in time for my anniversary. Cannot thank them enough. Every member of staff was friendly and very helpful, and I was especially grateful for their adherence to wearing masks, and providing antibac gel at every visit during this very difficult Covid period.

I cannot recommend Michael Platt more highly to anyone looking for an engagement ring. I walked in knowing nothing about what was involved and was expertly guided through the design process by Jordan over a series of 4 visits. At no point did I feel pressurised to make a decision or spend more than felt comfortable and Jordan has created the most stunning ring that my fiancé is delighted with.

My wife' engagement ring lost one of the baguette diamonds and I took it along to see if they could source a replacement stone. The 18k white gold ring was not new when we acquired it, but when I collected it following the repair just over a week and a half later it was better than new, with the settings strengthened and re-polished to show off the stones to the max. Worth every penny, and highly recommended!

I took my mother’s old engagement ring to Michael Platt to be restored, so that I could propose to my girlfriend. I ended up dealing with a young lady called Grace.
I honestly don’t think I could have been any luckier. She restored the ring beyond expectation and replaced a damaged gem with an amazing tanzanite gem. Grace’s work exceeded all expectations and my now-fiancé loves the ring!
Fast forward a few months and we decided to use Michael Platt for our wedding bands. Again, Grace was exceptionally helpful and worked with us to get the designs right. We went to see the rings on Sunday

My wife and I purchased a lovely bespoke entwined engagement & wedding ring from Michael Platt, 28 years ago. We visited in February this year to enquire about an eternity ring. Jordan was inspirational and used diamonds from a family heirloom. The design full complemented and sits beautifully with the original rings. Simply outstanding. There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful our experience was when looking for an engagement ring. We were greeted by Elayne (one of the shop owners) who took the time to talk us through diamonds and engagement rings.
