We are the only independent funeral directors in Arbroath. Over the years many local funeral businesses have been taken over by large organisations without necessarily changing the original family name above the door resulting in many people not realising exactly whom they are dealing with. George Stewart Funeral Directors Ltd is a family run, independent funeral director who believes in providing a very personal and caring service to clients.

It is a difficult time but with our sympathetic understanding, guidance and support we aim to ease you through the process and help you take your loved one on their final journey. We also provide Golden Charter Independent Way Pre-paid Funeral Plans and we strive to provide a compassionate professional service with the minimum amount of fuss and stress that is possible.

Services
When you have lost a loved one the thought of arranging a funeral can be very distressing. We at George Stewart Funeral Directors Ltd understand the pain of loss and are here to guide you through making all the necessary arrangements to ensure your wishes, as personalised as you desire, are carried out.
Pre-paid funeral plans are a thoughtful way of preparing for the future. It enables you to fix the cost of your funeral director's services at today's prices. No matter how much this may increase in the coming years, you have the comfort of knowing that the arrangements which you have specifically selected, including the type of funeral service, venue, readings and music choices, will be carried out exactly as you wish.
People who are on a low income may be able to apply for a Funeral Support Payment which is a contribution towards the cost of a funeral. To be able to get a funeral payment depends on the benefits or tax credits you're getting, your relationship with the person who has died and any other money, other than your personal savings that may be available to help with the cost of the funeral.
